I wish I could give zero stars. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have even recommended it to other people with no issues, our stay the last time and the way the complaint was handled has caused my husband and I to say we will never stay at this property again. First of all on check in, our reservation was completely messed up. They didn't even have the correct date in the system! I require a handicapped accessible room with a roll in shower, so thank goodness it was still available when we arrived around 11pm on a Friday night. That should have been our first indication that this hotel had gone down hill since our last stay. We were told at that time the staff were all new and they apologized. We understand that, so we checked in got to the room and the room smelled of sewage. My husband went to the front desk and they gave him a bottle of febreeze and was told to spray it in the bathroom. It was late, so we did and went to bed. The next morning, we woke up to our room smelling of cigarette smoke and sewage. Im highly allergic to cigarette smoke, it was coming from the employees all gathered around the door smoking, it was cold out so they were smoking with the door open on the inside of the door which was right by our room. It is not like we could ask to switch rooms, they only have 1 room with a roll in shower. My husband went to get breakfast and the person refilling the breakfast was so rude to him about bringing food back to our room and not eating it in the nook area. This happened both mornings we were there by different members of the staff, so it wasn't just one person. I have a big power wheelchair and it is hard for me to navigate small spaces so no matter what hotel we stay in, he always brings it back to our room and have never had a problem before. Upon leaving the hotel that morning I needed to get past a housekeeping cart to go down the hall, that girl was rude we touched her cart to move it so I could get by. I had to spend an entire day in Chicago with a massive headache because of the smells of our room. The shower was also filthy I had to clean it and put towels everywhere to be able to take a shower. Upon checking out, I wanted to speak to manager who I was told would call me that afternoon. I never got a call. Then I was told she was on vacation, so I called over a week later to try and get some type of compensation for this crazy list of complaints. I spoke with her and they had already gave us a $35 credit and then today she added points on our account, which I was told that was the only thing the owner would do. Oh and by the way they never gave us our points for our stay lol I spoke with my husband and we both agreed this resolution is unacceptable and called there to talk to the manager himself and she was rude to him too. We should have gotten more compensation returned than $35. I can see why this place has gone down hill with the management they have and the owner not caring about the customers that stay there. I am calling corporate within the next few days to make a formal complaint. We also own a travel agency and there is no way I would ever book another client into their hotel. I am also letting all of the companies we work with, such as Expedia, funjet, trivago, etc, our experience. If you don't like dirt, filth, nasty smells and a rude staff then stay clear of this hotel. There are much nicer ones 10 minutes up the road and you can be...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel now 4 times. Every time it gets worse. + First time the bed was bad, like bent in the middle. Second time we paid cash for our room, and was not told about a deposit (after asking directly about a deposit prior to our arrival at the hotel), Third time, my child were treated very poorly by late night staff and yelled at by house cleaning. She is autistic but very independent. Then, there was a major fight in the pool area and resulted in several people being arrested, the pool being shut down, and medics were called to the scene. This time, I had to bring my grandchildren with me- The pull out bed was completely lop sided. I called in advance to ask about any changes to the hotel cash deposit requirements espicially since i redeemed points to stay at the hotel. It was now $100 - not $50. When I called the week before our stay to inquire about the cash deposit I was told I could pay cash for the deposit and when I checked in was told I had to use a credit card. The young lady at the counter could not quote me time frames of release dates, and if the card was charged or held, she had no idea when the funds would be released and then snuffed her nose at me like I was asking to many questions. While unloading our cart, I dropped a bag on the floor that was heavy, and the floor underneath us called the front desk on me. We left for dinner before 5p and did not return until almost 9p to give the family underneath us a break. Kids went right to sleep. Apparently there were several complaints about us, while we were gone. Amusing ! So I get home and on Monday call the bank to check on the release of the funds, to find out that another $50 was placed on my card at check out. I called and spoke to the same young lady who snuffed her nose at me, and was told that she didn't understand, that is just the way the system is, and it should come back on my card soon - but it never should have been there in the first place. If rewards programs are this ridiculous to use - why in the hell do they have them. Why is it that I can stay at Country Inn and Suites all over the midwest, but at this particular hotel Im treated like an unwanted guest. Really Country Inn and Suites, if this is the way that all of the chains are trending - I'm not staying. I use hard earned money and well earned points for EVERY stay I have ever had with you. After the the third visit I spoke with a general manager that assured me everything would be better the next time I stay.. Its not,...
Read moreSTAY FAR AWAY!!!! My family stayed here for a funeral and because my grandson was sick 3/20-3/24. Let me tell you before I go into the issues with the hotel itself, they charged my card $240 after check out for deep cleaning room and 4 towels that were supposedly not able to be cleaned. I was not notified of the charge, I happened to look at my bank account. I checked out at 12, by 1223 I had the charge. I called my bank and the charge was made at 1217. I called the hotel and they said the room was stripped. Ok, so my room was in such horrible shape, but you had it stripped in 17 min? They refused to let me go up and take pictures, I called the police, they came and were allowed to go up and take pics with my phone. I wish I could post the pics, there were pop rings on the tables and pizza sauce I didn’t wipe up in the counter. Wow. Horrible. I do the same thing every time I leave a hotel room, I strip the bed, I put all the towels under the sink and I put all the garbage in a pile. Well apparently we had too much garbage, we did not have room service for 3 days, and had to ask for our own towels and toiletries, they asked us to leave the towels ooutside if our room, I guess they took that for our service for the day, I never even heard a vacuum run while we were there, we were in room 305, there blood on the back of the door, again I should have taken a pic. There was never any towels by the pool, there a girl swimming in her bra and underwear. It was the trashiest hotel and stay I have ever experienced. But I didn’t say anything and for that I was wrong. I figured I would just go on about my day and move on. Apparently I was wrong. I have contacted the hotel for a manager for the last 3 days, there is nicer one there, and they do not call back I opened a case with corporate and their response was to give me points and apologized for my experience. Yes, I would love to stay here again, or any of your chains. I’m sorry I ever stepped foot in there. Just a really bad experience, lesson learned, I will take pics before I leave my room, never did I think this was a thing that they...
