On the day of check-in, the couple charged a $50 deposit for smoking in the room then stated it was on the site when I booked; and it was not. They provided no receipt for the deposit and I don't smoke.
After entering the room I noticed that it is nothing like the photos on their website. The furniture and decor is utterly old and prehistoric. I mean this was furniture that was passed down through generations of hotels/motels.
Room was not thoroughly cleaned. White paint on dark-green carpet. Wallpaper peeling. The tv was filthy from a spilled beverage that was bubbled and stuck on the bottom right corner. You can tell it had been there for a few weeks. There were ants below that same area where the tv sat.
A $35 tv screwed into the top of a 16th century wooden dresser makes it difficult to watch from any other place in the room, except your bed. Where's the class.
The room had no chair. I had to walk back down to front desk to request a chair. The maintenance guy brought up a wooden kitchen table chair, not a comfortable office chair like in the photo on their website, that had a front right broken leg and that makes your butt go numb after a view minutes of use.
The internet is free but good luck keeping a good solid connection. The cable tv was watchable 40% of the time. It kept going out, relaying an error message of "service interruption due to back connection". I phoned front desk regarding this and he said the maintenance would come up. Maintenance never showed.
The couple didn't like when I complained, regardless to the complaints being legitimate. The husband was very sharp, impatient and didn't care to know if there were any other concerns, because he never stopped to ask. He appeared to be stand-offish and quick to leave your presence. He moved too fast, never wanting to take care of the guest that were already checked into the motel. The wife was obviously controlling and unprofessional. She strongly demanded I pay the $50 smoking deposit or leave. This couple is in the wrong line of work. They should hire some professionals to manage the front desk.
To sum up the customer service from the couple at the front desk: check in, proceed to your room and leave us be.
The only positive experience I will provide a star for is the king size mattress; it makes you forget all the bad until the moment you wake up. Couple it with the frigid blowing a/c and its possible I will make it through my weeks stay here.
Mind you, this is only...
Read moreOk so your reading this because you want to know the truth. Well here it is... the hotel is nothing like the Marriott or Hyatt so let's get that clear. I've been in dumps before and this is one of them. When you get there The person is ok... kinda like your standard McDonald's employee. You know the I hate my job but whatever person. Anyway the reactions at the front desk differs depending on who you are. Now the reason your reading!!!! The room!!!! First off remember that time you washed cloths and screwed the cleaning process up somehow and the cloths came back smelling mildew (ish)? Annoying smell right. Well bingo happy reader your room will smell exactly the same and that smell will hit you in the face soon as you open the door. The beds are ok at best. The bathroom is ok at best, again not a Marriott or a Hyatt. Heck at this point not even a days inn lol. The tv sucks plus it's bolted in so if you have a gaming system get ready to have a flash light and get ready to choke on some dust to hook it up. Plus the programming of the tv is a headache. The mini fridge was great I would definitely like to by one like it. I'm sure they have that version at a family dollar. So far a under sup par room. Oh yeah the room I was in had a sliding door. It was cool until I disturbed ol daddy long legs. I didn't kill the spider, for gosh sake I'm sure his two spider buddies are glad I'm not a spider killer. Anyway I went to open the sliding door and noticed there was no lock on it.... hmm so I investigated they had a rod in place to ensure it was close. Lol fail. I feel sorry for the person in that room when the snow falls. The hallways had people passing by every hour on the hour. And yes people tried to open the door lol you can clearly hear everything that goes on in the room next to you. In the morning the maid came by around maybe 10ish to give room service. After coming to the door in a loud and raspy voice saying no thank you, guess what?? the door opened lol my stay in room #116 here wasn't the best but the fact here is you get what you pay for. If you write a review please leave a room number maybe room by room they can fix this place up anyway Now I want to give this whole room and experience a half star. But there was one thing that was five stars......THE BIBLE. Thanks...
Read moreHotel is actually named travel lodge. Hot tub was dirty and some jets were broken. I had to wait over an hr xtra to get in my room because they were still cleaning it out. Which baffles me because i had to immediately have a friend deliver cleaning products before i would even let my child in hot tub. There were more than 1 or 2 centipedes spotted crawling out from underneath hot tub where there is a moldy gap around bottom of tub. Wax stains and cigarette (?) Burns all over floor especially under chair by sliding doors which lock was broken on (had to use a bar in slider to keep it shut and it did not close all the way on other side..the drapes should have been disposed of years ago. Hardly any toilet paper on roll and no extra roll. Was told if i wanted toilet paper or towels i would have to come from back of hotel to front to get some (I am disabled). No reception for their wifi... So no netflix and very few channels. Bedding was noticably dirty , had to use my own bedspread and blankets just to cover up bed and try not to think of what i was laying on. Loud noise and fighting going on through out the night. Woman at front desk was rude ..man named Robert working front desk was professional and polite. Basically this hotel is meant for people who want to do what you cant get away with in most hotels or at home. Clean/launder all your items before you bring them back in your home, including the clothes on your back and go directly to shower.... Bed bugs would not...
