Super 8 by Wyndham Mt. Pleasant TX — Hotel in Mount Pleasant

We booked for one night at single queen bed non smoke like 20 min before getting to the hotel. When we got there, they didn't have any room left so they wanted to charge more for a an upgraded room because their lack of rooms. I asked why was I able to book a room 20 min prior (this is midnight) and they say that a customer moved from smoking to non smoking. At the end they charged me $5+tax more for a king bed. Then when we get to the room and the card reader didn't worked. We went back to tell the night desk guy and he decided to go with us (I guess because he believed that we didn't know how to open our room). He came and of course it didn't work. Let us waiting outside the room and went to grab another key, that didn't work either. At this point he opened the room with his master key and asked us if we really needed a key. And I said yes, and he asked me back so you are going to go out of your room and I said yes. He asked again if I was sure and answered yes again! (None of his business- I just wanted a key to my room) He said that he needed to go back to reprogram the card reader. Later on he came back with a working key. Too much for a quick stop at midnight (I just needed a quick sleep to get back to the road). The hotel is next to the highway so you can pretty much heard the trailers and motorcycles...

When I arrive into the room it smelled like someone was just there. You could smoke body odor and smoke from cigarettes even though it was a smokeless room.

The windows have to be kept shut because there was a visible view to the other cars and no light shades to let any light in. When I tried to turn on the lights to let light in only one out of the four lamps in the room worked. As far as the TV only very few channels are active.

When I finally got to the bed there were obvious scratches on the blankets there was stains on the mattress and the bed smelled bad.

It was pretty disgusting to see.

When I wrapped in the bathroom there were obvious empty cartridges of soap and conditioner making it look like this room wasn't cleaned well enough which is pretty disgusting. The floor was still wet.

Overall the room smell bad the bed was dirty and the bathroom wasn't clean. I really expected better from Wyndham this is a very bad room.

Overall would not recommend this place...

Just stay at the cheapest hotel around it'll be the same. Pictures are not what u get. Over a dozen cigarette holes in just the one bed. Look at my pics, sad just throw these blankets away. Bubble gum stuck to the wall. Most towels look so dingy, it makes u AFRAID to shower. Front desk lady is very nice. This place cost $92 a nite with tax. It's safer to pull over and sleep, than to drive sleepy. Gave this place a chance since it said Super 8 by Wyndham & pics were good. That reputable name means nothing to me anymore. Beds are decent to sleep on but it'll take 3 of their flat pancake pillows to make 1 decent pillow. I was really impressed also by their grey duct taped remote control. These things only costs $8 for a replacement. Hopefully they replace it or use clear tape instead to hold the remote together haha. Oh well atleast this place did the job, we...
