We have stayed at this location before and had a relatively good experience so booked again. The rooms are spacious, the furniture old and uncomfortable but the location was good for us and we loved the restaurants and shops nearby so we thought meh let’s give it another shot.
But man. This time was our WORST Air B&B stay ever. Night #1 my husband was laying on the bed and noted it didn’t feel right. We looked under the bed and saw the main board running the length of the board was broken. My back was out and it was 7:30 at night, so we made the decision to pull the mattress off the frame and sleep on the floor. We let the host know and they sent maintenance to fix the bed the next day. They brought an unnecessary “we’re sorry” bag of a Nature’s Valley granola bar, a Hershey’s chocolate bar, a KitKat and a branded chapstick. Okay 🤷🏻♀️
(Note: We own a short term rental ourselves, which made us want to act with patience and consideration in this situation - stuff happens! So at this point we were still rolling with it.)
Maintenance fixed the bed frame and helped my husband get the mattress back on the frame. They did not help rearrange the furniture we’d had to move to put the mattress on the floor, but my husband and I put everything back as it was originally.
That night at 2 am CRACK! A loud popping noise woke us up. The repaired wood plank broke. We tried to “just deal” but ended up having to rearrange the room again and put the mattress back on the floor. My husband contacted the management and sent pics at this time point.
The next morning we hadn’t heard anything back by mid-morning and at that point requested a discount or refund - after all two nights without a bed or an adequate solution for almost $500 was a lot to bear. Especially knowing a hotel would have moved us or comped the room.
After lots of back and forth we were offered a 15% discount (which was about $75) for two very expensive nights of discomfort and horrible sleep due to no bed. This was unacceptable to us, so we contacted Air B&B who said if it was really that unacceptable we should have left the property (at 2 am!!!) and offered a 30% refund, which we did not accept on principle.
At this point we just feel scammed. Reading all the other reviews complaining about poor service makes me wish we’d heeded the reviews more! We would never have treated our own guests this way.
(Note: A broken bed might invoke some wild, sexy nights were had. Disappointingly, nothing could be further from the truth. As mentioned my back was out and we were in Nashville so my husband could be evaluated for heart transplant. The bed was just incredibly cheap and couldn’t hold the weight of two tall, weight-height...
Read moreCompany booked us lodging at The Mint House for a show at the Music City Center. So upon arriving the address is nowhere to be found on the front of the building. It's a little door in the back of the building and none of this is mentioned in the check in email. It took an hour and bothering a store employee to figure this out. No one on sight and no one to call to help you out. Next the code to the door doesn't work and again no one on sight or to call for help. Finally someone let me in and the check in code did work on the room door. I get my key card and parking pass and get my car in the underground parking garage. We stayed in room 300 at the end of the hall on the third floor. I must admit it's a beutiful and clean apartment. Everything is modern and very nice. Extremely comfortable bed and bedding. Nice furniture and modern TV and appliances. Even a little balcony that was nice to have coffee on in the morning. Stayed three nights and got very little sleep. There is a roof top air conditioner or something that turns on and off all day and night. It vibrates and shakes the apartment. It's loud and drove me insane. Street noise is very loud as well. The crosswalk koo-koo sound is annoying, Ambulances coming all night, traffic, people screaming and yelling and the helicopter landing at the hospital. To say the least it's very noisy. The highlight of this place is it's location. It has excellent dinning nearby. Breakfast, pizza, taco bar, bbq, Asian, sushi, chop house, burger bar all within walking distance. Very cool shops, a theater, Vanderbilt University, and medical care as well. The neighborhood is fantastic. So basicly it's a matter of what's important to you. If your hear to party at the bars and go to great restaurants this is the place. If you have to work as I did and need your sleep this may not be for you. Customer service is lacking and somewhat non-existent. It's just a matter of your priorities. I would recommend for a romantic getaway with your wife. That seems to be what this place would be nice for. Otherwise give it some thought...
Read moreExcellent location if you don't mind walking a bit. There are several restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. Downtown Nashville was roughly a 45 minute walk away.
The rooms were nice enough - clean and the provided tea and coffee were appreciated. The kitchen was decently stocked with cooking utensils but we didn't make much use of them. Be aware there is a lot of city noise here from all the vehicle traffic, nearby hospital, and the crosswalks beeping all throughout the night. Another apartment played loud music our first night until about 1am. My partner and I are used to city noise so this didn't bother us too much, but I'd recommend bringing ear plugs or something if you aren't.
My biggest complaint was with Mint House's service. We originally booked a location of their's on Music Row, but they closed that location after booking it, so they moved us to Hillsboro Village. When we arrived we used the provided room info and ended up intruding on a room that was already filled with a father and his daughter. It took about 20 minutes on the phone with Mint House to get new room info - we were told our reservation was changed but we did not receive any notice about this. As a consolation they texted me to check my email for a $10 Starbucks gift card but no such email ever came. I really couldn't care less about the gift card but barging in on another family was not a great experience and something I wouldn't...
