This hotel doubles as free homeless shelter...First night I paid 128 for jacuzzi room and the photos show how nasty it was.. lots of mold/mildew... I was kicked out of that room and put into a much smaller room with no microwave or fridge and a basic tub after complaining about the tub... after staying 2more days paying fluctuating prices between $117-128 for my room I found out these hotels (best western, days inn,and holiday inn) double as homeless shelters.. meaning these people just sign in to stay free.. they dont have a voucher that pays they just stay free in the same rooms that cost me over $100/night..

The hotel is a mild disaster in terms of services. I got room number 421, the card didn't work. The 4th time I went down to the Lobby to have my card reset and the 4th time it didn't work. Then their technician came and tried 2 times and went down to reset and nothing again. In the end, they gave us another room. and that harassment lasted for more than an hour. A big disappointment for me honestly.

Little hard to find but thank goodness for Uber. Room was small but well designed which accommodated it's size. Can't really complain, room was clean, included a breakfast buffet and they offer a shuttle service to JFK. Plus there is a variety of local restaurants who are willing to deliver.

The GOOD thing is that it includes a free shuttle from JFK Airport and it was clean. These are the reasons I'm not ranking this hotel even lower. For the BAD, please see my long list below:||||The hotel is literally right next to a sanitation warehouse. The shuttle goes through a gauntlet of trash trucks. I can't wait until they all start backing out of their parking spaces early in the morning.||||The website describes a nice breakfast, but the current reality is a grab-and-go breakfast consisting of water, a small muffin, a yogurt and a granola bar. However, if you want something hot, you can BUY a sausage breakfast sandwich from behind the counter and heat it in the microwave provided in the former breakfast area.||||There is a sign on the door instructing you to wear a covid mask, but none of the staff are wearing them.||||There are no restaurants nearby to walk to. I asked where the closest restaurant was to walk to and was told it was a 7-11 a 12 min. walk away.||||This does not appear to be a safe area. Sketchy-looking people are loitering down the street, which is not surprising as sanitation areas are not known to be in good neighborhoods.||||The room is the size of a matchbox. There is a chair crammed between the wall and the bed on my husband's side that he has to climb over to get out of the bed.||||There is no safe to store valuables. ||||The light in the hallway and bathroom comes on via a motion detector in the middle of the night with no way to keep that from happening. So, when you get up in the middle of the night to use the facilities, you are woken completely by a bright light in your eyes in the hallway (as well as your sleeping partner) and then in the bathroom itself. You turn them off right away, but they come right back on when you move.||||There is no closet but a small armoire that's 6 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft approximately. ||||We were on the 4th floor, which is the top floor, also. The elevator is extremely slow and takes several minutes to come up.||||Last night we went to a Mets game and came back late. There was a crazy woman outside of the hotel screaming her lungs out about mistreatment at the hotel. ||||To top it off, this morning, we found out the lights in the bathroom are set to go off 45 seconds after there is no motion. So while you're in the shower, there is no motion detected and the lights go off. You have to wave your arm outside of the shower curtain to activate the lights for another 45 seconds. ||||I cannot believe that this hotel passes the Best Western standards. It makes me much less likely to consider the Best Western brand in the future. There is a Fairfield by Marriott nearby that would likely be a much...

We were looking for just a place to stay over the weekend for cheap, nothing fancy. We didn't spend a ton of waking hours in our room.

Location: close to JFK. Right next to highways, so hearing a lot of cars and sirens. Surrounded by other inns and motels. It's on a one way street, so if you miss it, it'll take you awhile to get back there in traffic.

Transport: 24/7 shuttle to airport, where you can take the air train to other NYC transit stations. This was very convenient to get to and fro Manhattan. Walking distance (4-7 blocks to other side of highway overpass) to burger king, some other restaurants, and 7-11. There's parking in the back.

Lobby: They have cold water with citrus fruit right by the door. There's a place to print boarding passes. There's a couple of loveseats to sit down on. Very bright and clean looking.

Staff: They were pretty knowledgeable about the transit system. If you're rude to the staff, they might be rude back as I witnessed.

Food: Breakfast is okay, they have waffle machines and pancake machines, omelets with american cheese, sausage, pastries (dry), fruit, juice machine, cereal. You can order food, the have menus for restaurants that deliver at the front desk. We ordered Indian food, but it took more than an hour because someone else in a different room also ordered from there, so they just waited until all the orders were finished. I recommend you order well before you're hungry and ask for how long it'll take to deliver.

Room: Our "non smoking room" smelled like cigarette smoke but only by the bathroom. We were on the basement floor, with our windows looking out to the sidewalk. Didn't notice anything super dirty/gross but then again, it was dark and I wasn't looking with a magnifying glass. Perhaps when you check in you can ask for a room on an upper floors if you like brighter places. We were between a storage room and an elevator control room and it was great for white noise. The bathroom was okay, though it only had a curtain in the shower and no liner,if you care about that. The seashell plastic decoration was good for holding toothbrushes. The light switch in the bathroom glowed orange at night (helpful for middle of the night bathroom calls). The king bed was comfy and came with plenty of fluffy pillows. Not too many convenient outlets, we had to move end tables out and other plugs around. There's an AC unit in the window. FYI, there's no refrigerator, but we didn't end up needing one anyway.

It fit our needs, but I may or may not...

My reservation was for park and stay. When I arrived, I was told that I needed to pay 2 additional nights, park and stay was only for 7 nights and I was staying 9. No one ever told me this. My confirmation email clearly stated the price of 266 and the Mala insisted I needed to pay 2 extra parking nights. No manager is around until Wednesday! And It’s Saturday!!! I never would have paid $300 for park and stay as I shopped around for the best deal. Best Western was misleading. While all of this was happening in the lobby people were walking in and out without masks. One person in particular was standing next to me as I was trying to check in and he had no mask. I felt very unsafe here. Next, I put my luggage in the luggage rack and the rack was all wet! I had to take out all my clothes and blow dry the suitcase and clothes. I’m so disgusted and I am hoping the wet luggage rack was water and nothing else! I will never return and I will never stay at a best western ever again. I am waiting to hear back from management and I expect a refund. This is not a great way to...
