The hotel is out of downtown but accessible by the metro. ||||There were very few online reviews on the hotel and so was expecting the worst. I however appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms, linen and towels. The bathrooms are spacious and clean too. I also found the front staff very helpful.||||The hotel also offers a continental breakfast but the choices are not very many. ||||The hotel is in a neighborhood with many Chinese and Asian restaurants. But take care the staff in some can be very aggressive in demanding for tips. I had a nasty experience where I was held hostage and blocked from leaving a hotel until I paid 15% tip. Well I have always thought tips are voluntary - not in this neighborhood. Another restaurant suggested we pay 18% tip. Where I come from there is no tip business so I was shocked by these experiences.||||Due to little information on the hotel I got lost on arrival and would like to assist others. The best Metro Station to alight at is James Heights/Roosevelt Station. Then exit on the 75th/Broadway exit. Walk a few meters to 76th street and walk along it for 10-15 minutes to the hotel. The best metro line is line E (Blue) as it is semi express. Line R also serves the station but stops at all stations. There is also an express bus Q70 to LaGuardia (LGA) airport from the station.||||If you decide to take a cab from the metro, be careful. I used one and the driver pretended he forgot to put the meter on even when I told him to put it on twice and I was left to haggle about the exaggerated fare he was demanding for the short distance...
Read moreYou get what you pay for. We stayed here for 10 Days and I was very surprised, as I thought it would be very bad because of the Reviews, but it wasn't. Rooms were clean and not that small (its enough place for a few days). Staff was nice and helpful. Furniture has seen better days, but its okay. I think the bathrooms got renovated a few years ago, they seemed very new. Bathroom was also very clean and we got new towels and shampoo every day.
The breakfast Room is quite small, but you will find a seat. There were bagels, toast, peanutbutter, jam, Butter, waffles and syrup. Waffles were really good, breakfast was okay all in all (for the price), but a little boring. Sometimes it was really loud while breakfast, because securitystaff were taking their breaks here. There is a busstop Next to the Hotel which brings you to the Metro (Metro is ca 15 minutes walk away). With Metro, it takes ca. 30 minutes to Manhattan. There are two shoppingmalls near the Hotel, One of them has a target which is very convenient. Our keycard didn't work, we had to change it every day. It was a lot better Experience than I expected, but Next Time I will book a Hotel near...
Read moreStayed here while attending to the 2016 US Open. If you understand the price point you are paying going in, you should set your expectations realistically. We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms - although small, they were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern enough and clean. The only thing we did in the hotel was sleep and eat breakfast, which is the usual continental food (plus waffle maker). A/C worked great, and the hotel staff was very pleasant. There are about 10 parking spaces behind the building, which we used to park free for labor day weekend. Overall the hotel provided exactly what we needed -- free parking, reasonable prices and somewhere close to...
