We are NOT staying the night! I was so upset, & my husband just said “we’re leaving. We’re not going to risk our sons safety because of someone who is power hungry. Misty Bowman was condisending, would not listen to try and understand, had zero empathy, no compassion, zero effort to pretend to CARE! I should have looked at their ratings before booking… but how do they even have a 3.5star review with a woman like this running it?! https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/SpringHill%20Suites%20Peoria/entity/CgoI9pPSlayp5_gPEAE/reviews?q=SpringHill%20Suites%20Peoria&g2lb=4965990%2C4969803%2C72277293%2C72302247%2C72317059%2C72406588%2C72414906%2C72471280%2C72472051%2C72481459%2C72485658%2C72560029%2C72573224%2C72616120%2C72647020%2C72648289%2C72686036%2C72736535%2C72760082%2C72803964%2C72832976%2C72882230%2C72885032%2C72948010%2C72949575%2C72949865%2C72951146%2C72956054%2C72958623%2C72959982&hl=en-US&gl=us&cs=1&ssta=1&ts=CAEaSAoqEiYyJDB4ODgwYTVjNmMzMzBmZjJkOToweGZmMTlkNGFjMmI0ODlmNhoAEhoSFAoHCOkPEAUYBBIHCOkPEAUYBRgBMgIQACoJCgU6A1VTRBoA&rp=EPaT0pWsqef4DzgCQABIAcABAg&ictx=111&utm_campaign=sharing&utm_medium=link&utm_source=htls&ved=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwig77jr1YiNAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCQ @springhillbymarriott @Marriott Hotels April was literally just #autismawareness month! #autism #autismacceptance #autismmom #autismoftiktok

Need a place to stay with little kids to break up a trip to Indianapolis. We found Springhill suites in Peoria and thought it can't be that bad because it's a Marriott property. Boy were we wrong. When we arrived we found out the pool was "down for maintenance". In reading reviews it sounds like the pool has been down since at least January. We went to look at the pool to see what was going on. There were HVAC units being stored in the pool room and the lights were hanging out of their sockets in the pool itself. No mention of this was made when I called the hotel to make my reservation and discount was offered for the misleading information. Upon entering the room you could tell it was very dated and lacked maintenance. My 1 year old son quickly found that the door stop was not secured to the floor and was found sitting with the door stop and a 4" screw after he pulled it out of the carpet. The good about the hotel is it is near a lot of decently priced food options. Time for bed, or so we thought. The beds are very hard, pillows too soft and sheets scratchy. This made for a short night. In the morning we got up to find that the shower in our room was broke and we could not shower. Thankfully family was staying in an adjoining room so we could shower over there. We called the front desk and they said "we can give you 1500 points" uhh ok I guess. That does nothing for me since I still don't have a working shower in my room. Also, how was the shower even cleaned when the shower was broken. We headed down to a very limited breakfast. The highlight of the breakfast was the microwaved sausage patties that resembled hockey pucks. My son had white socks on in our room for less than 2 hours. When we left the hotel the socks were so dirty from the floor in our room that we had to change them. The carpet is full of stains and there was no way housekeeping had done any floor cleaning in the room. We made a list of issues during the stay and made contact with the front desk upon checkout. Sorry's were given but they couldn't not process any refunds as the GM had to review the issues first and they were not present at the hotel at 9:45am on a Friday. We pressed some more and were able to get an employee to process full refunds on both rooms. Trust the reviews on here. Marriott has lost a customer over their blatant disregard for this property.

We booked our stay at this hotel through Priceline. We have a child with Autism. In times where his routine is different because of travel we seek things like swimming pools to offer him a therapeutic substitute to his daily ABA therapy. This ensures that we reduce or eliminate self harming behaviors due to sensory overload. When we arrived it was posted that the pool was out of order. After realizing this I called Priceline to get the reservation reversed, mind you I had not even stepped foot into the room at this point nor did I ever at all. Priceline in turn called the hotel to get the refund authorized. This is where the hotel manager for this shift “Misty Bowman” kept refusing to do the return because they had to get paid. She kept repeating policy to me and wouldn’t let me get a word in. When I finally said “I need you to be a person right now and stop repeating policy to me” she hung up on me. After multiple attempts by Priceline and Marriott Corporate to get her to authorize the refund, she kept refusing. She spoke to my husband with a condensing tone and said “so nice to meet you” to him in a very sarcastic fake way. We can’t believe that this is the person that Marriott had entrusted to represent their name and their brand in this location. We live in a world where 1:68 people have a spectrum disorder, so for a manger who isn’t empathetic and compassionate towards that to be handling such delicate matters is totally negligent. She la is the skills and training to offer adequate solutions to issues that call for much awareness and sensitivity. If you have a special need or disability I wouldn’t suggest you stay here. They don’t have the customer service skills or training to take care of you. We learned this lesson brutally today. Luckily, 4 points by Sheraton in downtown Peoria saved the day. They have excellent stoner service skills and amazing staff. Their indoor pool area is also wonderful! Below are images and a hotel description that shows that they are promoting their indoor pool to those who are shopping for a room.

The staff there was very kind and helpful as well as superbly friendly and I was pleased with the location of the hotel. The breakfast provided was excellent. The food tasted very good, the staff made sure that nothing ran out for the size of the crowd. Since I was late arriving to breakfast Saturday morning, I was especially happy that the staff did not start pulling the food early, even though the crowd had dwindled. I also noted that the staff was surprisingly prompt at cleaning any mess, so the whole area was clean and welcoming.

The room I had was very clean and I felt very comfortable there. The cleaning staff seemed to take care of even small details in cleaning. Very commendable. When I first walked into the room I noticed that it smelled clean (no offensive odors) and with the curtain open and a small light on, it gave the appearance that the room was set up and waiting just for me. The bathroom was clean, even in the corners and hard to see areas. The staff was excellent at taking care of any mess I had lying around without disturbing anything else. They were also very pleasant to speak with when I met them. They all seemed to be the kind of people I would enjoy sitting down with. I was pleased with the television selection and that it was easily visible from both the couch and the bed. I was also happy with the WiFi and Ethernet connections which were about 5Mbps. (Note: the cellular was 20Mbps) The bed was comfortable. I like that while it was a firm mattress, it was also soft. While it is difficult to please everyone, I felt that this was a good overall fit for all guests. Needless to say, I slept very well.

I would like to offer special thanks to three individuals who helped make my stay one of the best at a hotel. Those people are (never got last names) Mgr. Jeff, Cali and Matt. They had answers for all of my questions and always seemed to make time for me as well as the other guests. Cali was the first person that I met at the hotel and was a cherish to deal with. She took care of all of the details of my check-in (as well as check-out) in a very quick manner while also being personable (and always a smile and genuine kindness). Cali noted that I had traveled a considerable distance and made sure to put me in a room TWO levels above the football team that was going to be there later Friday evening. Consequently, I barely even knew the team was there... I had a very restful and...
