I will start with the ONLY positive things about this property, which is the restaurant and breakfast in the morning. The Indian restaurant attached to the restaurant was outstanding, and delicious accompanied by great customer service from the waitress. Breakfast was an even a better experience, Gloria the breakfast attendant was very nice attentive, and provided great customer service. The display of breakfast items she set out looked great, everything was spotless, items were fully stocked from the milk, yogurt, fruit, cereals, and juice, we didn’t need to ask for anything. Gloria was nice enough to even brew us a fresh pot of Decaf. Just by walking into the breakfast area I instantly knew that this breakfast attendant takes pride in her work and wants guests to know that they are well taken care of when they eat breakfast at this property! Now the rest of my experience which was frightening! This is by far the dirtiest Best Western I have ever stayed at! The moment we walked in the trash can at the entrance was smelly and there was dark trash liquid pouring out from the bottom. That was enough for me to know that the cleanliness of the hotel was not up to BW QA standards. When we went up to our room, I saw a stain on the wall that looked like old vomit. There were stains on the walls, mirrors, and near the phone. When I looked in the shower there were blonde hairs everywhere,(I have dark hair) and what looked like pubic hair near the shower head. Windows looked like they hadn’t been dusted in years. I noticed crumbs under the corner of the bed and proceeded to look under the bed, I wish I hadn’t. Vents were disgusting and had not been dusted. Thermostat in the room would not stay at the temperature we set so we were either freezing or hot. I noticed the door did not shut properly, there was no chain or security latch to lock the room from the inside, there was no deadbolt, and whatever lock it had was not working properly. When I picked up the Phone to communicate with the front desk it was not working properly. Which was a big security concern for me. I did not feel safe sleeping there. Curtains on windows were not working properly, didn’t go up or down. At night you could hear cars driving by people yelling in the street. I could hear people coming to and from the elevators and knocking on doors. My dad is a platinum member with BW and this is the treatment we received. When I asked to switch rooms I was told they were sold out even though when I checked online I was able to book a reservation for the exact same room I was in. One of the employees told me they were at 80% capacity. I don’t appreciate being lied to and I hate sleeping under these types of conditions. If it weren’t for my elderly grandmother who was tired Of moving hotels and the maintenance guy who came and fixed the door so that it would shut properly. I would have stayed elsewhere. Never staying here again and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near downtown San Antonio. Shame on you BEST WESTERN!

This hotel is in a good location, good price, but not worth it. Let me start off with the rooms are so small nothing like the pictures shown. You can’t even open the closet door cause it’s to close to the bed. If you were by yourself it would be okay, but with someone else, there isn’t much space. Very miss leading from the pictures. Maybe they have a room that’s bigger but not the one I stayed in, and when I asked for a bigger room he said they are all the same. The elevators are tiny as well, so if you have lots of bags or more than 3 people you wont fit. So many times people had to wait on the next one just so they could fit. Also back in the room, the Kleenex box was empty, only a quarter roll of toilet paper left in the room. But it was clean and good hot water, so that’s a plus. Now even the “indoor pool” that’s not indoor the roof is open to the elements, it is so small you can’t get much use out of it anyways.. Now as for the main reason I’ll never go back. The staff and valet attendants are rude, didn’t even open the door or help with the bags, but the one thing that tops it all. Was the valet attendant stole some change and a nice pair of sunglasses out of my car. I asked to talk to the manager (Dimple Bhakta) and I felt like she was a little rude to me about it. Telling me, people break into cars around there all the time. Acting like I should’ve known that, asking if there were smudge marks on my car. I live in an area that’s not the nicest and have had my car broken into several times. I’ve had my fair share of that, so I know what that entails. First people don’t break into your car and steel “some” of your change and just sunglasses that were hidden in the middle console with other stuff... So a break in wasn’t the case, there were things left in my car that are usually stolen when a person breaks into your car. I’m not sure where they park the cars at. When I ask, all they would ever say is a parking lot down the street. I just had that feeling like it has happen before with other people. At first, she said she was going to investigate it and get back to me asap. So I told her there were only two different guys that moved my truck, and told her who they were. After that she change her mind and said she would refund me one nights stay and I didn’t have to pay for the valet service. Which I’m glad she did that (of course she refunded the cheapest night) but she did try to make it right I guess. I just didn’t like the way it all went, seemed really fishy. If They were honest about the size of the rooms and the pool, plus have trust worthy valet service, it wouldn’t be a bad hotel. I would not recommend this hotel at all, and will never go back!!!! Bad customer service with thieves working there... Just be warned, if you are staying here park in the parking lot next to the hotel don’t valet!!

The 2nd floor is infested with cockroaches. I stayed from 7/12/2023 - 7/18/2023. On our 2nd night, my daughter caught something on her peripheral vision- it was a cockroach on the wall. I turned the lights on and found 3 more in our room. We were terrified. I immediately hagan packing our stuff with no idea on what our next steps would be but I called the front desk 3 times before someone answered. I don’t remember the lady’s name at the front desk but she worked the overnight shift during my stay and she was very efficient and worked promptly on getting us to a different room. We stayed on the 4th floor for the remainder of our stay where we didn’t have issues. She assured me the hotel manager would check on us the following morning and she would add it on the notes. This never happened, I never got to meet the manager until my last day during check out. The overnight front desk lady however, did check on us a couple days later to make sure everything was okay. This was very appreciated. I’ve visited many hotels across the country since I was a child and never have experienced anything like this. It was truly frightening. We used the stairwell a few times and found 2 dead cockroaches between floors 1 and 2. Upon checkout, the hotel manager was working the front desk and I waited for her to ask how my stay was but all she said was “you’re all set!” I figured this would be the best opportunity to bring it up since she didn’t. I explained to her the situation and she said “oh yeah I saw you guys were changed rooms” I told her it was because of the cockroaches and I was worried they had a problem. I proceeded to tell her they probably should check it out especially since the establishment serves food and the health department should be aware. She lacked empathy, she failed to build rapport, and used this opportunity to tell me they’ve had other infestations that were far more concerning like water bugs. I simply said okay, I just wanted to make sure you guys were aware. She handed me her card to send her an email but I chose not to email her because of how insensitive she appeared about the situation.

The room was very nice and spacious, the decor was nice but we did notice the sheets were stained and dirty with something red.... almost looked like blood.

Then when housekeeping came by, we were still in the room getting ready for the day so we told them that they did not need to service our room but we did ask for towels and toilet paper. They gave us one roll of toilet paper.... even though we told them one of us was sick and was having to use the restroom constantly.

Then on Saturday night, we had reservations at a restaurant downtown at 10:25pm. The valet had given us a small card with a number to text whenever we wanted them to bring the car around. I texted the number at 10:01pm and I didn't get my car until 10:45pm....we had to cancel our reservations. When they finally did bring the car around I asked both the front desk agent (Justin) and the valet (did not catch his name but he was young and looked to be South East Asian) "what took so long?" and they literally had nothing to say for it. The valet guy said "I don't know, I never got the text." Justin checked my phone and confirmed that I texted the right number but didn't have anything to say for it either. It was not until I said "so that's it? you just don't know?" that they offered me an apology. That was all they did, they didn't offer anything complimentary for the delay and inconvenience.

The following morning we were set to check out but we woke up a little bit late so I called the front desk to see if I could have a late check out, they said no.

Also the breakfast had no variety, the only egg option were those that come in frozen and they just heat up. Gross!
