The room was great. Fantastic area, great walking proximity to most of the touristy attractions (Be aware, however, that you will spend a lot of time walking both up and down hills.), plenty to do and plenty of options for food and drinks.
Sonder’s end was pretty decent on customer service for any issues or questions that arose, HOWEVER, Marriott just took over Sonder and the integration of their systems and processes is AWFUL. 1. I can’t even be logged into my account and view my reservation or stay details. I have to log out of my account and look at my booking by using my confirmation number. Due to the systems migrations, there is a ton of inaccurate information on the app like stating that lockers are not available even though they are, and the inability to directly request early check in or late check out. We got approved for a late checkout and had a payment link sent to us that was broken and simply led me to the Marriott website that resulted in 45 minutes on the phone with Sonder customer service finding a resolution.
Big companies, specifically the special folks in operations (Almost always led by COO who isn’t worth their weight in salt, let alone knowledge.) love to implement changes without properly ideating what the process would or should look like. To have all of these changes implemented during high travel season adds insult to injury.
Overall, would’ve been a 5, but because of Marriott and their poor execution of process, end...
Read moreReally good stay here - a bit noisy due to nearby highway but this is a city-break after all… Contact free site was super easy to navigate and instructions were sent out via the app beforehand which were easy to follow. Building was smart and easy to navigate, and room was smart too and pretty well equipped with the small kitchenette and plenty of bedding and linen. Could also restock dishwasher and laundry tabs, towels and tissue from the cupboards out in the corridor, and the laundrette was a nice thing to have access to as well. Roku TV was nice to have as some background noise, and the bathroom was more than good enough. Location was decent too, with tonnes of food and coffee options right on the doorstep, and the main tourist attractions/bus stops only 15 mins walk away. The station to the airport is also only a 10 min walk and trains are cheap too.
Overall I’m more than happy with this booking - if you want luxury and fuss made over you then book a 4-5* hotel - but if you’re the type to get on with it yourself and just want a nice apartment-type place to stay then try a Sonder. It was like an Airbnb without the phaff of extra fees and cleaning charges or worrying if the host is nearby or what they’re...
Read moreGreat location in Capitol Hill. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and the Seattle Convention Center. These are actually private apartments, and some units in the building are occupied by long term tenants. Inside the building was quiet. There's no onsite staff, and the online check-in was easy. Small fee ($20-$40) applies if you want an early check-in or late check-out. No keycard. Once checked-in, they give you a shared code for the entrance and elevators, and a separate code for your unit which is important as you may want to share the entrance/elevator codes to your guest, but not your room door code. No room service, but plenty of restaurants around. Starbucks Reserve is just a block away. My room faced the freeway/convention center, but you could barely hear any noise. They did a great job with the soundproofing. The room was clean and modern, with a kitchenette. The AC was strong. Free luggage storage after check-out. I didn't like the soap/shampoo dispenser. Once pressed, the pumps were slow to come back up, if at all. It was annoying, they need to replace those. Also, the water pressure could be better. My unit was on the second floor. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely...
