NOMA Resorts — Hotel in Shaver Lake

Lots to unpack here.

Service is a 6 star review if I could give it! Brandon from the resort was responsive whether it was 8AM or 9:00 at night! It was HOT so we requested a hose to stay cool as there isn’t a ton of shade at the domes where we were staying. Erick(?) the grounds keeper on site brought us a hose and we got to talking. He guided us towards some sweet creek entryways and since we had kids he left and brought us some kids fishing poles! I told him I knew how to cast but did not know how to set up a line and reel and he did it for us! He even left us some bait that he had and as an added bonus left us with some bubbles! They def went above and beyond to help my family feel comfortable.

Now for the opportunities: Picnic tables would be a great addition to this place. We were a family of 11 spread out through 3 out of the 5 available domes. It would have been nice to have picnic tables to eat at.

Although the domes have AC they don’t do much in the 100+ degree weather of the summer. Brandon was very transparent when I called him at 9:00PM the day before we were set to go there so just be ready to venture out during the day. But at night the AC works like a MOFO!

Bathrooms: the showers are either extreme hot or extreme cold with no real in between it was a tough shower. The toilets are not piped and rather a port a potty of sorts. For the price we paid you would expect them to be at least emptied daily. By the end of our trip the bathrooms were a bit unbearable.

Maybe think about adding some on site dumpsters so we wouldn’t have to keep trash in the bathrooms.

Bass lake was a short 40 minute drive away. We rented a pontoon boat and had a blast. Then the gas burning fire pits provided s’mores and light to end each night which was awesome.

How can I begin to describe it all? We just celebrated our daughter's wedding at NOMA this past weekend, and the entire experience was more beautiful, more uplifting, and more memorable than we ever could have imagined! Brie, Levi, and the other members of the team assisted with the wedding details in every way they possibly could, and they surprised us with extra fancy touches that we didn't even request! There was a lot of work to be done, but it was always done with a smile and a sense of, "Don't worry, we've got this," which put us all at ease. The venue itself is spectacular. The scenery (which became the backdrop of the ceremony) was breathtaking. The lodge easily housed the wedding party comfortably, and provided plenty of private space for both bride and groom to get ready with their crews, without accidentally bumping into each other. So the first glance between bride and groom happened at the ceremony, and it was priceless! The venue had games for the wedding party to enjoy, hikes to explore, greenery to gather for additional decor, and our son-in-law even enjoyed a relaxing float in a canoe to go fishing before the wedding! Our happy couple's wedding song, Blessings, says "There are blessings all around you, Take a step outside..." and at NOMA, this was absolutely true! We highly, highly recommend this...
