Loved, loved the Corque Hotel! It had so much character, amenities, was reasonably priced, and in a great location. ||The Building: The Corque Hotel is a nice looking building and entrance of brick and arched windows, with some Halloween decorations as we approached, including a tall pumpkin scarecrow that moved and talked. It is in a great location, near the downtown shops, bakeries, and restaurants. ||The Lobby: Cute lobby with 2 containers of fruit-infused water and a 3rd container of regular ice water to quench your thirst at any time. They also have wine by the glass out of a dispensing machine in the lobby, which we didn’t try, but nice if you needed something to relax after a long drive there. The 2 story lobby has a chandelier made of clear wine glasses, bottles, & stoppers. There is a fireplace and seating to relax. The 2nd floor encircles the lobby, where you can look down, and has some leather chairs and tables in the arched windows where you might find a quiet space to read, watch the people walking by, wait for someone, or just unwind. The elevator requires a key pass, which is a nice security feature. ||The Room: We had a very spacious room on the 2nd floor, with very comfortable beds. We had an ADA/handicap room (by request), so the beds were very low. We’d have preferred higher beds, but ADA rooms are going to accommodate different requirements. Our bathroom did not have a counter or vanity area; just a small wooden table next to the sink. This may likely be to accommodate someone in a wheelchair. We had a walk-in shower, which is helpful to anyone with bad knees or wheelchairs. There was only 1 small towel rack, but a few pegs on the wall in the bathroom. Not ideal for us, but, again, may likely be because it was an ADA room. The toilet was high, and there were bars on the wall in the bathroom, which was what was needed. We asked for 2 luggage racks, and they were able to provide them. There were 2 free water bottles in the room. We could hear some noise, but the a/c drowns out much of that. If you are very averse to noise, it may not suit you, but it was workable for us. The clock was set on a 24 hour time clock and was an hour off, but we had travel clocks with us. While no vanity counter, there were great mirrors in the room. The bathroom had a bright light around it, making it nice for getting ready, as well as a magnifying mirror for putting on make-up. The room had a large full-size mirror. There was not a reading light in the room. They have a Privacy button, instead of the doorknob hanging plaquard – very modern. ||While there were a few things we would have liked a little differently (vanity counter, reading lights, etc.), overall the room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had nice little extras that were appreciated. The hotel had a lot of charm, great design architecturally, and we loved our 1-night stay here! Many of the hotels in Solvang are smaller, often with no lobby desk support, and few amenities. The Corque had the extras...
Read moreThis is one of the very cleanest, most welcoming with the best staff ever!! They have someone to help right at the door most of the time. It's a smaller hotel but it's beautiful with its beautiful decore and unique touches. They have 3 fresh infused flavor waters to welcome you. Beautiful swimming pool area that is heated and a jacuzzi. It's a nice quiet place to get away, they are family friendly. The pool area has relaxing music playing, they had corn hole, large connect four, and some other outdoor games. Might be seasonal. Also if it's a warm/hot day the nice guys go out and offer I think otter pops or water. They are the sweetest ever! This hotel also has something right because they put out a few inflatable pool balls and it says take me home if you want to. This may sound like it's more for children but some adults actually enjoy this! Been there so many times and it such a nice tranquil place! They have nice cabanas and few fireplaces. They help with anything! I have a huge list of names. I know Ana always goes above and beyond for all her guests. The young girls and men all greet you with beautiful smiles. I hope they don't change this place like they did with The Hadsten House! This hotel is part of a Casino Chumash, That's how I had the pleasure of being a guest here. I hope they don't take this beautiful place away from us as a special treat. Also The Housekeeping Hands Down the best cleaning crew ever and so kind!! Please if you ever go there be as nice as they are to you. Some people want everything at their hand and feet and demand things. This place is very popular because All Class of people love it. From People with Money to people who prob have to save their last penny to go their. Hotel Corque Do your best to keep it the way its going! I've been to many, many places and this is one that I can say so many good things about the entire place that makes it Unique and special. Whoever is in charge do your best not to be making crazy changes. If anything keep your guests in mind the ones that love going back and the ones who tell everyone how amazing you all are! And the spot it's in! Next to beautiful Mission and the shops and food places! One of the best places to get your Ableskivers is at The Solvang Restaurant! You'll learn that place...
Read moreI’ve stayed at Corque Hotel before and had a great experience, which makes it all the more disappointing to write this review. Unfortunately, my visit on December 20 to 21, 2024, was anything but relaxing and certainly not reflective of the high standards I’ve come to expect from Solvang hospitality.||||The problems began with loud guests in the room above me. I hoped it would pass, but the noise continued into the next morning, starting around 7:30 AM. After calling the front desk and waiting ten minutes with no improvement, I walked there in person only to be told the issue hadn’t yet been addressed. The noise persisted throughout the morning, and my second attempt to speak with staff was met with condescension and dismissiveness.||||In frustration, I asked whether I should call law enforcement to deal with the disturbance. Only then did an employee offer a 25% discount, a future upgrade, and the possibility of further compensation depending on a manager’s decision.||||At checkout, I spoke with the manager, Nick Keener, who not only ignored my complaints but was openly dismissive and unprofessional. He refused to honor any of the previous offers or acknowledge the significant inconvenience I experienced. No apology. No resolution. Just a cold shoulder.||||To make matters worse, I later found out that Corque Hotel is advertising a “Four Diamond AAA Award” on its website, a recognition it no longer holds. I contacted AAA and confirmed that the hotel failed its last inspection and is no longer certified. This kind of misleading information is unacceptable and further erodes my trust in the establishment.||||Solvang is known for its charm and hospitality, but my stay at Corque was a disappointing reminder that not all local businesses uphold those values. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously, because until major improvements are made, both in guest service and honest marketing, I won’t...
