Omgoodness where do I start? I really appreciated the front desk staff. They did everything to make my stay the best they could. This is definitely an older establishment but the rooms are decent and the beds are overall okay. When I arrived, checking in was very easy, walking into my room, there was an old smell but it looked clean and comfortable. Personally, the very first thing I do when sleeping anywhere away from home is check the bed. Upon pulling back the blankets the sheets were stained. I tried to call downstairs with the 1980s landline but no answer so I walked to the lobby and let the person at the front (I wished I knew their name because they were great) what happened and requested to be moved to another room. I was honestly disgusted but so thankful they switched my rooms. Walking into the new room it was clean ☑️, felt cozy ☑️, had the old smell ☑️, dirty sheets 🚫 the room was good. I Checked the bathroom, it was clean and I was so happy they provided the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that was actually really good. Exhausted, I unpacked and went to bed. The following morning, I started the shower and quickly realized there wasn't a shower curtain. Hey maybe that's normal in Arizona 🤷♀️ Idk. So I threw a towel down on the floor and got into the shower only to notice the bathtub wasn't draining. So I speed-showered and got ready for the day and ended up Running late, because I was trying to clean up the water all over the floor. I called the front desk asked for a shower curtain letting them know the tub wouldn't drain and there are water on the floor. The person I spoke to was very compassionate and understanding and told me they would have someone address the issues before I got back later that afternoon. When I arrived later on,everything was taken care of and I had clean towels and sheets. The next few nights, I didn't have any issues until the last night. I was lucky to get neighbors, and if you read the reviews that say you can hear everything in the next room, they aren't lying. I heard my neighbor's entire conversations, every cough, just everything causing me to sleep with the TV on to drown them out. My suggestion moving forward, is to teach housekeeping to throw away the stained sheets and blankets and make sure the bathrooms have shower curtains. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the pool was big and clean. The wifi sucked also and there was no AT&T cell service but then again I had that issue at a lot of other places too. All in all, the customer service was great and that's why I...
Read moreIt was a disaster checking into this hotel! I travel extensively and stayed at multiple hotels in any given year. This is the worst experience I ever had at ANY hotel let alone a Hilton labeled property.
When we arrived the front desk staff all of a sudden got puzzled and informed me that we already checked in! Well I informed them that we just got off the plane and arrived now. They apparently have someone else assigned/staying under my name. Note that I have a unique name so there is no room for confusion. They then sent the security guard to check the room the originally assigned for our stay. The front desk staff during check in even with this mishap was genuinely helpful and she then assigned me another room.
Second, we went looking for our assigned room. Well that room does not even have a room number label. So, I used my deduction capability to find the room. See pictures.
Third, when it was time to sleep it turned out the their great housekeeping staff did not even changed the linens and towels. We had two queen beds in the room. Both linens had stains on them. Also the towels have red stains on them as well. Remind you this is during COVID and proudly have a Hilton provided label saying the rooms are sanitized! Well seems like all the sanitization is done in imagination!
After reporting this situation to the night clerk. She informed us that there is no housekeeping staff available. The best she can do is to send the new linens and towels by security personnel. It was our responsibility to make the rented hotel room we were paying for the privilege to stay.
The clerk was extremely rude and kept on telling me to stop being upset and that it's not a big deal. Then 15min later she called to convey to me that the manager decided to give us complimentary breakfast for the duration of the stay. That was two nights. We'll that did not happen either or communicated to the restaurant staff as they charged us for the breakfast as well.
During the whole stay the keys stopped working five times and we had to hike back to the front desk to get them reactivated. All while being kept in the protective sleeve.
Stay away from this property if you like to keep your sanity.
Only positive was complimentary water bottles and cookies on arrival. Rest was a disaster.
Note that this the longest review I have ever written because of the worst ever experience we had at...
Read moreMy favorite parts about our stay were the hot tub, the Frank Lloyd Wright details throughout the property, and the warm cookies. Our room was clean and the lobby is stylized to fit a desert and 70s theme- including an open floor plan, a hotel store, restrooms near the check-in counter, and a warm fireplace. We stayed at the end of November 2023 for a four-night stay, I watched staff decorate the Christmas tree in the lobby to jazzy, instrumental Christmas music while waiting for a delivery. The hotel itself is structured to create a sort of courtyard in the center, blocking out the noises of traffic on all sides and dotted with towering palm trees, reminding guests where they're staying. Our room was clean and spacious. I'm not a fan of the squiggly lines on the wall, that felt outdated compared to the rest of the place. I was disappointed there was no microwave in our room. Would have to walk all the way to the lobby if I wanted to heat up leftovers, which I wanted to each day of our stay.
I was pleased with the looks of the place, but pretty disappointed in their service. The hotel advertises a shuttle van to and from the airport, with a short 15-minute wait. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our ride. I would have called an Uber, but the receptionist I spoke with three or four different times ensured me that the driver was close. Google Maps shows that the ride from the airport to the hotel should only take eight minutes. There's another DoubleTree location in the area and we saw that driver a total of three times before our driver finally arrived. When he did pick us up, he apologized for our wait and said it was because of traffic. An outright lie.
On our final night of our stay, I went to the front desk requesting a towel for the hot tub. Staff told me they didn't store towels there and would call housekeeping to meet me at the hot tub with one. So I got in the hot tub and no one ever came. Keep in mind what it's like getting out of a hot tub on a November evening.. I doubt the staff I spoke with ever made the phone call to housekeeping.
On the third night of our stay, the light switch by the door was jammed and wouldn't turn off. So we slept with the light on and dealt with it in the morning. We spoke with housekeeping directly and they fixed the issue quickly. Very pleased with...
