The KOA of Tifton GA is owned and operated by some horrible people. I was an extended stay resident there for exactly 1 month and 2 weeks. I have been staying in a camper until we were able to move into our house on Oct. 2nd. The owner seemed helpful at first but soon things went downhill. The owner is extremely immature while running this business. He acted friendly and honestly too friendly (screenshot of our text conversation is added to the bottom). I was living by myself for a few weeks until my boyfriend could move down. When my boyfriend arrives he then turned into a horrible person. We were watched 24/7 with absolutely no privacy. This is ridiculous with the problems with what we have had. We were confronted about “having too many visitors”… we have had 3 visitors that came maybe once a week for studying and just hanging out for no more than an hour at a time. The policy states that it is a $5 visitor fee which my friends did go into the office to pay and was told that they didn’t need too and they were perfectly fine to stop by… a few days goes by and we have them over again. Not thinking anything because we are sitting in MY CAMPER watching TV the owner knocks at the door and threatens my boyfriend that he is going to raise rent because he didn’t know my boyfriend was living there. HE IS ON THE PAPERWORK AS A PERSON THAT RESIDES AT THE CAMPER. As we were being respectful and compliant as possible another few days goes by and I get this text “Hi Haley, it’s Chris. I need you to be out by 6 PM tonight because our tenancy has come to an end I don’t want to deal with you being late on your rent and I don’t want to deal with your boyfriend again. There is a park called I 75 RV park And it’s $400 a month looks pretty clean too. I’m gonna have the sheriff here at 6 PM if you’re not gone.” As well as a voicemail from him stating that he will get my boyfriend arrested if he comes up to the office to speak with him. I was not once late for rent so I am confused as to why he is stating this. My boyfriend then goes to the office to converse again with him and he tells us that we speed (which neither him or I have gone over 5 miles per hour to respect other residents) , have too many visitors (3 visitors with a total of 5 visits AT MOST that lasted no later than 1 hour long), and that we were college students and he doesn’t like college students. He also sat there and told my boyfriend that he has a dark and evil soul for standing up for him and I and not taking the irresponsibleness from the people that work from the KOA. We are responsible adults that took care of our area. Kept it clean. And even did yard work to make it look presentable while it took them weeks to mow and weed eat when the paperwork said they will do yard work every Monday around our camper. We also went hours one day without water where we couldn’t shower, cook, clean, or use the toilet. At the end of the day, we had to leave with less than a 4 hour notice (which we did not want to be there anymore at this point already having to live in a camper on top of dealing with being accused for something new everyday) to find another place to stay as well as pack our stuff and get out. How is that reasonable and how is the KOA a great place to stay? we are extremely responsible people and this is honestly my first bad review ever left but it is something that needs to be said for awareness of...
Read moreBeen a little hard to figure out how to rate this place. It seems they work pretty hard to keep it clean. We were there for 2 weeks. We got a site with a patio and the concrete was all busted on the edge and sticking up pretty far. I tripped on it and twisted my ankle several times over it. We parked the coach with door in front of it to try to avoid it as much as possible. The picnic table was peeling and well... We decided not to use it. There seemed to be quite a few long term people there .. no one talks or waves to you while out walking.. the staff seems nice.. But not a real friendly place. One of the long term people had 4 dogs... He would tie them all to a tree. In the couple weeks we were there one would escape and several people would chase him for quite a long time before finally catching the dog... Rinse and repeat. One of the long time residents had a car that was so loud when he started it.. Several times a day and night... It startled everyone in the camper. My cats would hide...I would jump. Happened a lot. Another site over another long timer would have parties around the camp fire well after quiet time began. Then disappear for days. There was a tent there that looked like a homeless shelter... And perhaps it was. Tarps thrown over it.. And signs and stuff all over the place. Must have been another long timer tent style. We never actually saw a person there though. Though this is one of the strangest KOAs we have stayed in.. It DID have a very nice nature trail. They are also expanding the park. But I would suggest fixing up the existing sites you have to help avoid injuries. They also come around daily and pick up your trash. That's nice. They had good wifi there. Which was nice because must of their cable channels were very snowy and hard to see. So we streamed most of the time. Water went out a couple of times. They didn't notify you... You just kind of found out when you tried to use it and nothing came out. We would switch to our pump so... They seem to have a Merry little band of people that stay there and don't really care about the others that come to stay with them for short term. It did have quite a few people there. But not many that would come in just over night. We won't be going back there to stay again. It was not what we were used to with KOAs. And our site wasn't even...
Read moreVery friendly customer service. The RV slips are large and easy to pull into, they are mostly well shaded by large trees and mostly level gravel or dirt. The 30/50amp, water and sewer are all well maintained and easy to connect to. Good 60+ psi water pressure. Excellent wifi, among the best I've experienced at any park. There are a few convenience items in the camp store, they also refill propane. Having a pool to dip in and cool off is a huge plus. Each site has a small campfire ring/grill and table. They also have a large covered picnic common area as well as a central community fire pit. On the back of the property there are a couple of catch and release fishing ponds, but it was too hot for us to walk back there and check them out during our stay. The negatives. They have "camera enforced" 5mph speed limit with a steep fine, not sure if that is a joke or not but seeing that was very off-putting. I get it, go slow and drive safe, but it's tough to idle below 5mph, and heck, the lawn mower zipped past me doing at least 10mph. 5mph is too unreasonably slow. The grounds are covered in burweed, if you don't know what that is, it's the little stickers that you get in your feet when walking on lawns that have them. Tried to walk the dog in the dog walk area and she was limping around with multiple burweed stickers in each paw. When I took my shoes off, the bottoms were covered with the stickers too. There is a large target distribution center right up the road, so all day and night trucks are going in and out making lots of noise. The camp toilet and shower facilities are locked and reserved exclusively for tent and cabin campers, which is super inconvenient for the day you leave. I personally like to get my holding tanks flushed and pack everything up then take a quick shower in the camp shower before leaving, especially when it is a humid 100 degrees outside. Solution: swim trunks during prep to hook up and leave, quick cold water rinse at the outdoor pool shower. Still it's a nice camp with excellent hosts, so for me at least, the pros slightly...
