I cannot rave about Ugly Biscuits enough!! From the scenic view from our rooms, to the amazing shower to the wonderful breakfast we had the best time for my boyfriend’s birthday. They even allowed early check in and surprised him with a special pillow on his bed. They go above and beyond. It felt more like visiting family. I’ve already told all my friends and family they need to check it out!! We will be back!

Thank you Connie, Rodney and Katie for making us feel at home. Everything was great, house was pristine, delicious breakfast, nice forest in the back of the property with walking trails. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

We stayed here over the past Memorial Day weekend on our trip to Devil’s Lake State Park from Chicago. The bottom line is that Ugly Biscuits Bed and Breakfast is such a wonderful place where you can find peace, relax and rest after a long drive/hike, meet good people, and eat delicious! breakfast.

Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately by one of the owners (some of the nicest people that we’ve met) Connie and were introduced to the property which is in the middle of Wisconsin farmland. The property area is huge with a cute but decently long trail where you can take a fun walk, not to mention two hammocks in the woods which can result in automatic naps :) There is also a fire pit with chairs around for some nightly chats.

The house itself is very pretty with clean and comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms. The common area is full of books and board games so you can pretty much just spend the whole day at the property relaxing. There is also this bird feeding area where small local birds come and hang out, and you can easily spend hours sitting in the porch, watching the little ones.

The breakfast is prepared by chef Katie who is super talented. The food is all vegetarian/vegan and we were amazed at how fantastic the meals were (and we are big meat eaters). I am definitely going to try to get the secret recipe from her for the cookies and biscuits.

Ugly Biscuits is near Devil’s Lake and also Wisconsin Dells. It’s also not too far from Madison. Connie, Rodney and Katie know the area so well and gave us some restaurant and travel tips at Baraboo and Madison.

We had a wonderful time and were so fortunate to meet such fabulous people. We will surely...

We don't normally do bed and breakfast accommodations, but we gave it a try. The location feels out in the country but is within 15 to 20 minutes of town, Devil's Lake and Wisconsin Dells. It's a pretty easy drive back and forth. Baraboo was more like 10 minutes. It's a nice place to get away when you are done playing. They have done a great job creating an oasis away from it all. So peaceful. Breakfast was good, and I did not miss having meat. You have access to coffee and a microwave for guest use. Many games and books to use for entertainment. Notably, there was not any television. I didn't miss it at all. I saw their dogs once outside. I never even heard then bark once, so they are not a nusiance whatsoever. The hosts were very nice, helpful, and kind but were not intrusive. The home was beautiful and really modern. This is by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed! I clean myself for money, and I have a detailed eye, but my room and bathroom were spotless. The white bedding, spotless! They had a note saying they wash all bedding between every guest. The only negative thing I can say is that the water in the fox room took a long time to heat up for the shower and sink, but it eventually did. Also, being in a B&B, you are really close to those who rent the other rooms. A matter of preference, I suppose. Thanks for a nice getaway...and yes, we did kayak at Devil's Lake the...

ugly biscuits was an amazing weekend stay. I went with my fiance this past weekend and we loved every bit of it. the family is amazing!! rodney and connie are warm and welcoming, friendly and inviting, and you can really tell the love they put into ugly biscuits. Katie the chef is as wonderful as her scones and pastries are!! theyre telling the truth when they say that theres no boring meal at ugly biscuits. i am still dreaming about the apple scones and the almond breakfast desert pie!! oh and the egg casserole. and also the fresh fruit! and the scrambled eggs! and the coffee!! the rooms (and the whole house) is decorated so simply and warmly. i think my favorite moment was sitting on the couch and drinking tea while watching the birds come to the bird feeder outside the window. we will for sure be back in the summer or fall to see the trees with leaves on them! we stayed in the owl room (which shares a bathroom with the raccoon room) and if you're worried about a shared bathroom, dont be!!! its kept squeaky clean, plenty of privacy, and we didn't have any run ins with the raccoon room guests! it was just the best stay ever. 10/10 recommend. we will see you again rodney,...
