In all my 56 years, this was the worst hotel I’ve ever been at. From getting trapped in the elevator and not having my warnings taken seriously for two days and seeing other people have the same thing happen, from having to climb up and downstairs from the fifth floor and above, from having the manager, not admit, he was the actual day manager, and when I complained about the elevator after warning him several times said he didn’t effing understand why it was such an effing hassle for effing people to just effing just walk up some effing stairs!” ||He also then claimed that it was in his right to charge me double what booking.com said I would be charged for a hold on my card for damage fees or told me they were per night, which is not true at all. I think he did it because he was retaliating. My “best room in the hotel” or business suites had a spackle on the walls and nails coming out of it, etc., or not kept up. The city view was nothing more than a two lane , loud , and busy street 24 hours a day. You could barely see the tip of the Way off in the distance. The hotel is right across from a late night, liquor store, and all the alcoholics and drug addicts hang out on a bench and on the sidewalk all night long. You can also see ice raids if you’re lucky like I was. There were people who were drunk ( and had kids) yelling and laughing and fighting , and running down the hallway in front of my room , all night long and I had to report that … and was told I would have to be the one to deal with it , or they would just call the police and I would have to talk to them when all I wanted to do was get some sleep. This was after the night manager admitted there had already been several complaints and the fact that there were multiple people in the room and he had not charged them for that. The maids don’t care that you have a late check out and are extremely loud in the morning with laughing and music and talking in front of your door even before breakfast starts. One of them finally knocked on my door and after the third time of it happening, open the door up ( I could not explain to her. I had late check out because she did not understand English, so I had to mime everything.) ||Again, my bill was completely overcharged and I think it was retaliation. Oh, be advised there are four yes four train tracks running right behind the actual hotel that leads to a nearby train yard so you will hear train horn blows all night long. you literally will not get any sleep there. You may get stuck in an elevator and having to walk up flights of stairs for several days and nobody will care even after you’ve worn them it’s a safety and a fire hazard. Booking.com cannot get the manager to do anything that he should in terms of compensation neither could the corporate office. The corporate office just claims hey it’s a franchise. The only thing that they’re willing to do is give me a free night stay ha ha ha.! You will be highly disappointed if you go to this hotel , it is not to the caliber of any other LA Qunitas I’ve ever been to. PS they never bothered to update the address , so it is actually the address of a former hotel by a different name -so don’t expect an Uber driver to come for you on the first few tries!! ||That is if you can get out of...
Read moreVERY SCARY SITUATION I liked the hotel at first, until my room had an electrical issue. It's not white glove/rolls royce but it was clean and exactly what I had expected. Well, until day 3, when the light in the bathroom wouldn't turn on. The front desk said they would send someone - never heard from them. I called back to follow up and they agreed to move me to another room. Upon moving, we realized the refrigerator (in the cabinet) was so hot, it was almost on fire (literally, not an exaggeration). The cabinet top was untouchable and the heat coming from the cabinet was like a heater vent. I went to the front desk at this point, but the front desk was without any concern. Without urgency, they said they were going to address the situation tomorrow. To me, there might not a tomorrow, if there would be a fire. I went back to my room, gathered my things (which were still packed from changing rooms) and headed for the front desk. I advised them that I wanted to check out, due to the electrical issue. The front desk clerk refused to check me out. I wasn't aware that was possible. For liability reasons, why would this hotel want me there? Why not let me find a safe place to sleep?
I would NOT stay here again and would NOT recommend it to my worst enemy. HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from staying here, if for no other reason, than how they handled a situation that could have/should have been handled so differently. The hotel management doesn't appear to care either. Hesince the manager put answered my phone call to him, put me on hold several times and then, transferred me to a voicemail. This hotel knew I wasn't happy about the situation when left the hotel at midnight. Someone could have reached out to address the situation. It could have been made right. They have no excuses. I gave them several opportunities, before revising (correcting) my review, which was originally a...
Read moreI and a friend were in town for the Labor Day weekend (urbex trip), and needed a decent place for a quick night stay. I've been to a few La Quinta hotels in the past, and I've always had good experiences. We came in Saturday evening, no reservation, and we're greeted by the friendly and helpful staff. No issues with getting a 2 bed suite as a walk in. The hotel looked generally clean and the room was as well. Beautiful view of DC, and the Capitol in the distance from the 7th floor. As to be expected anywhere, there were a couple loud guests, and of course street noise, but nothing that caused us to lose sleep. Nice free continental breakfast; hot and cold food, ample seating...manageable enough, but the coffee was kinda weak. My only negative was parking. Very limited lot that can be tricky to navigate (though it wasn't packed enough to find an open space), but not worth losing a star over. Overall it was a great stay, and I have no issue...
