We stayed here over the weekend of 7/6-7/8 for my sons wedding and from the day we made the reservations we had nothing but problems. We were told that we had a special rate since we were booking for a wedding block. We later found out that there was no special wedding rate n that we were given the published rate for that weekend. We also made arrangements to make sure that my daughters room was next to mine so i could help her with the kids. The morning of our check in I received a call from the hotel saying they were not going to hold my reservation because the credit card that I had given when I gave when I made the reservation was not working. I explained that the card I had used at that time was deactivated because it was lost. So in the middle of packing n loading the car to leave for the wedding I had to find my new card n give it to them to make sure that I had a reservation. When we arrived at the hotel, it looked abandoned. The grass need to be cut n there were weeds growing in the parking lot n sidewalks. We went in and I was greeted by a man who I am assuming runs the place.. he was very unfriendly and proceeded to tell me that he still was not able to get my credit card to go thru.. and proceeded to tell me that my sisters card wouldn't go thru either. That was none of my business n he should've never shared that information with me. After a very long process of checking in n having to run to find an ATM to withdraw the cash to pay for the room we get settled in our room. My daughter comes to check in only to find out that her reservation was also screwed up. The room that she was suppose be in next to us, was no where near us and the desk clerk refused to move either one of us since we had been in the rooms n they didn't want to have clean them again. She had only been in the room to drop off luggage n call me to see what room I was in.. Still the man would not switch us to rooms close together.. they were on the 2nd floor on the opposite side of the building.. It was very inconvenient. Other family members and some of the wedding party also checked in that night n also had some sort of problems including my son who was the one that brought the business to this hotel. Saturday morning came and I went to the front desk to get a receipt and they refused to give me one. They said that I would get one we checked out.. I don't understand why if it was paid in full I couldn't get a receipt but whatever. We went to the wedding and proceeded with our day. At the reception we learned that other family and friends also had many problems checking in. Some being double charged for their rooms and not getting adjoining rooms they book for families with children.. When we went back to our room later that night we had to go to the desk to get new keys because we're not working. We were met by the intoxicated, argumentative desk clerk almost refusing to give us new keys to our room. Unfortunately at that point after eveything else, I came unglued. We were tired after a long day n just wanted to get into our room.. His wife came out of the backroom n made us new keys finally. The next morning we woke up to a receipt that had been put under our door. upon looking at the charges the rate wasn't right and was charged for an in room safe that we never used. At that point after taking a shower in ankle deep water because the drain wouldn't drain, we packed up n left with a horrible hotel story for the weekend. Unfortunately there was only one other hotel in the town n it wasn't any better unfortunately. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone what so ever unless they get new owners that will take care of the property and care about their guests. I was a resort manager for 20 yrs and I can't even imagine treating guests the way we...
Read moreI want to give this place 0 stars - this has been the worse stay we have had and we have been traveling a lot this spring/summer. I called on Friday morning and inquired about paying cash for the room. The person I talked to was rude and condescending. A little while later another person called me back and she was just as bad. I called another hotel in the city who must manage this hotel as well and talked to someone who must be a manager. Against my better judgement I kept my reservation, but things only got worse!! We were in Room 103 and it reeked of stale smoke. We knew we wouldn't be there much so we kept the room and left to visit friends. We came back and our daughter wanted us to make her a bed on the floor since the beds were really small. I asked my husband to go get 2 extra blankets and 2 extra pillows. When he asked at the front desk, they told him no he didn't need them. After some bickering with them they finally gave us 2 blankets but no pillows. We were gone the whole day the 2nd day and came back and asked for extra towels. There was discussion as to why we needed them - really?? There are 4 of us and you gave us 3 small, old, paper thin towels. We have been in a lake all day and we all need to take showers. We checked out Sunday morning and while at our event that we were in town for, I get a call from the hotel that there is a pillow missing from the room and I would need to bring it back. I explained very nicely (but I was really mad so you can imagine how that went) that I did not have one of their pillows and maybe they needed to walk back to the room and double check their counting (these pillows were the smallest, cheapest pillows and no one would want one!!) He kept insisting I had one and now I will be checking my credit card to make sure I don't get charged for some pillow they said I took but did not. Absolute worse hotel ever, stay...
Read moreThis was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked a suite at the Super 8 in Whitewater, Wisconsin, thinking I’d get something clean and halfway decent based on the photos online. What I actually got was a filthy, rundown, overpriced nightmare.
The room was disgusting. The furniture was broken, stained, and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The hot tub in the suite was grimy and clearly hadn’t been properly sanitized. The shower looked like someone had smeared feces on the wall—only to find out later it was chipped, brown paint. Still absolutely appalling.
The smell in the hallway was awful—reeking of cigarettes, even though the place claimed to be non-smoking. It hit me as soon as I walked in and never went away.
The noise level was unbearable. The walls are paper thin, and there was constant banging and shouting well into the night. It was impossible to relax, let alone sleep.
To top it all off, the price they charged for this “suite” was absurd. I’ve stayed in far nicer places for a fraction of the cost. I honestly feel scammed. The photos online were completely misleading, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Not my family, not my friends—no one deserves to waste their money here.
I wish I could get a refund. This wasn’t a stay—it was an insult. Do yourself a favor and stay...
