We checked in late and bought a week. The next day they told us that we would have to succumb to two cleanings for that one week, that it was city law. I'm here on business. I don't have a lot of time to wait for the made and I won't leave my tech in the room by it's self to be ruined or stolen. The room was filthy when we checked in, wasn't going to complain until they told me we had to wast hours of our time on made service. The made came and took up over an hour of my time while I explained to her what needed to be done, odiously she didn't see it and proceeded to blame other maids for the dirty room. Upon arrival I washed a pile of stuck on gravy from the table, the tub and shower curtain had not been washed probably for months. She did clean the tub which came out shiny whereas before had been dull with soap scum. The shower curtain had slimy mildew on the bottom, you know, the pink stuff. Gross! How would you like to take a shower in that? Nasty! When she came in the first thing she did was set her dirty dustpan on the counter top next to my toothbrush and fresh pack of strawberries. You have go to be kidding me, how filthy can you get? When I asked her to clean the black grunge off of the refrigerator, which is leaking water all over the wavy floor, you heard right, wavy, she commented that there would always be another spot that needed cleaning. Really? She didn't clean the tiles in the shower, they still have mildew and caked on soap scum, the cloths rack is the same, long term grunge that you you can scrape off with your fingernail. I mentioned to her that you can clean the air conditioner, which the bottom is falling out of, with the broom, she didn't do it, it's still filthy. The next day, the manager asked her to knock on my door to see if I needed anything, that's the best way to run me off. I would have purchased another two weeks here if it hadn't been for all the interruptions and being lied to. I'm not getting paid to tell the maid how to do her job and I don't like being woken from bed to see if I need clean towels when I have a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. One of the other maids had mentioned a guest in 211 who had about 20 bags of garbage in the room when they checked out and told me that's probably why the want to come in twice a week. Fine but don't lie to me and tell me the city requires it. They don't . I called several other hotels and none of them have ever heard of it. Just tell the truth, it's much better. P.S. your 211 incident was probably an isolated incident (doesn't apply to most people). The filth that this hotel boasts is not an isolated incident, long term bird poop everywhere, the elevators have dirt glued on by soda or beer, the lighting has visible dead bugs in them. The maid mentioned that there was a guy who stayed for a week and the room was decently clean when she went in but after he left the room was a mess. Maybe that's his way of saying, "If you want to clean a room, here ya go". They have a nice new LG TV with HDMI cable hookups but no menu option on the remote to actually use it. Maybe they think their guests are not sophisticated enough to know how to use today's technology. If you plan on watching movies or Netflix on your laptop to TV, think again. I confronted the manager on some of these issues, he's in the family who owns the place so these issues more than likely won't be resolved. It's not that it's a small town, or a dive hotel. I stayed in a dive hotel for a few months while closing on my house and it was clean. Yes, it was cheap and it was a dive but there was a pride of ownership and the manager and staff hosed off the sidewalks, washed the bedspreads, pillows, and shower curtains for every new check in and never bothered us once; that was the Garden of the Gods Motel in Manitou Springs, CO. I mostly stay at Woodsprings Suites when I travel, they have a mini kitchen but there again, the staff live on site and don't know how to separate home and job. When I pay for a room, I want privacy and rest. I got...
Read moreI cannot even believe the extent of terrible I’ve experienced from this hotel. It’s the nightmare that never ends. After a long day/night of driving over 18 hours we pulled into Econo lodge to stay the night. Upon entering the room the smell of cigarette smoke nearly knocked me out despite the room being nonsmoking. I called the front desk to tell them about the smell and was simply told “you won’t be charged for the smell” instead of offering a new room or any kind of apology. I went to lock the door, as I always do on hotels to find a broken chain lock which in and of itself was terrifying. I’m trying to look past these imperfection due to my pure exhaustion and need for sleep but they just keep rolling. I go to take a shower and see rat poop in the bathroom along with leaky drains. When walking to my bed I noticed food (what looked to be pasta sauce) on the floor and just tried to walk around it. I’m THAT tired. But then came time to draw the line when I lifted the blankets to discover stained sheets. There were SEVERAL stains of all sizes and colors. I simply could not sleep here for the night. I return to the front desk to ask for a refund to which I am told I’ve been in the room for too long for a refund. But this point it has only been approximately an hour of endless disgusting discoveries. I’m refused the refund on location and attempt reaching out to management the next day. Upon this phone call I am asked if I took anything from the room during my stay, assuming they are asking if I’ve stolen from the location to which I respond “why would I want anything from a disgusting and filthy hotel room”. ||The call for a refund still unsuccessfully as they try to convince me I stayed for over 3 hours despite having the check in time on my receipt and knowing when I left because I was and had to drive several more hours choosing to sleep in my car rather than this disgusting hotel. In my opinion, the condition of the room is enough to a refund regardless of how long I stayed. Utterly unacceptable. Stay away as all costs. It’s worth spending extra money to go...
Read more*The price may be tempting but do not stay here. I was part of a 12 person group that reserved 3 different rooms. For the most part 2 were fine but the double suit (room 437) is where everything went wrong.
To start we came in and non of the AC units were turned on so it was incredibly hot and humid. Despite having a no smoking policy the room wreaked of marijuana. There were dead cockroaches and insects all over the floor indicating they had not bothered to sweep the room (all hardwood).
The room had 2 beds and 1 pull out couch. The couch had large brown stains everywhere. Pulled out the mattress and it was covered in old food and we found 2 maggots on the mattress crawling around. Looking past this we decided to just put 2 people to 1 bed.
There were holes in the blankets and the sheets were stained. Upon further inspection we found a crack pipe in the kitchenette. At this point we requested a new room which the staff was willing to provide. Despite everything though the staff seemed un-bothered by anything we had found. The front desk person actually said there were only a few maggots on the mattress as if we were over reacting and should have just brushed them off and just slept on the pull out anyway. When they came in to give us the new room keys they did apologize but did not seem fazed by the drug paraphernalia. They shrugged it off and took it with them and did who knows what with it.
In the morning we went down for breakfast and despite advertising continental breakfast they had maybe 10 little muffins, random pieces of bread, coffee, juice, and a waffle maker. No fruit, yogurt, eggs or anything that is found at a typical breakfast. The floor was so sticky my shoe stuck as I turned to walk away causing me to stumble.
Although the staff was friendly it was odd that nothing we said bothered them like this sort of thing happens all the time. There are better hotels in the area for more money but...
