Mercosur Universitas complicated our stay in Montevideo, with unnecessary strict enforcement of their parking policy. We only asked them to have 5 minutes patience with us, to leave our car in their parking garage, with plenty empty parking spaces, until we had checked in. But they forced us to reverse our very big car up a narrow ramp, unto a crowded street, where incidentally another guests entry was complicated and ended up with shouting forth and back between my wife and them.||||We can't blame Universitas for what happened next, a small accident, but this whole situation could have been avoided with a bit of common sense.||||We had been driving all day long and really didn't need to get into this complicated situation.||||We are sorry that one of us couldn't keep the temper down, but their unilateral cancelling our our reservation at the hotel, didn't help anybody, not the hotel and not us, not our tired and hungry child.||||So a warning to other guests, don't enter their parking if you aren't specifically...

Read moreThe hotel´s location is really good: round the corner of the Tres Cruces bus terminal. As far as I could gather, this building was formerly a students´ residence and since two years or so, they converted it into an apart-hotel. My apartment # was 902, with two rooms, a kitchen and bathroom. Each room has one single bed. According to my experience, these beds are among the most comfortable I have ever slept in a hotel in Uruguay. The mattress is firm, as I need it for my back. ||Nevertheless, there were some details they ought to improve: some hairs were on the sheets and others on the bathroom. The cushion they put on top of beds as decoration was useless, especially if they look dirty. There are no reading lights by the beds. The parking place is very narrow (both the ramps and the maneuvering space inside). ||Breakfast was very good with the customary vast array of pastries, which is an Uruguayan tradition.||Staff was very friendly...
