Golden Star Hotel — Hotel in Đà Nẵng

Really bad service, NOT SAFE, no hot water, broken shower broken windows, itchy. Staff entered my room without knocking before checkout saying we had checked out but it was not even time yet. NO APOLOGY for this intrusion and a woman in this room alone can you imagine how scary this was, someone dressed in street wear just entering your room, and they still wanted to charge us EXTRA instead of compensating us. Rooms look clean at first but things are broken.

Windows wouldn't close so it is very cold and loud. There is no hot water, only lukewarm water so it is very cold showers considering the windows don't close. My travel companions in another room also had this problem. Had to actually go somewhere else to pay to wash my hair because it would have been too cold. Shower wouldn't drain and someone had to come fix it. We were promised early check in and they did not honor it saying that they never said that even though we showed them the email. There is loud banging throughout the night starting 4am or earlier and goes on for hours. We were also promised adjoining rooms, and even at check in they confirmed this even though the room numbers did not appear to be, they assured us it was adjoining rooms as we were checking in and the rooms ended up being on opposite sides of the floor. They are such liars. Fridge is also broken and I did not realize, spoiling my food. The electricity turns off if you are not in the room so I was not able to charge my devices while I was out for coffee to prepare for the day.  Fabrics are itchy. The hard lock also does not work so it does not feel safe. Worst of all, while they give no discount for the problems we had, they charged us for key card replacement and would not waive it even with all the problems. The most frustrating thing is they did not apologize or see any fault on their end.

Staff were not helpful at check in, trying to charge extra for my 10 year old who we had clearly already paid extra for, this was clearly written on our itinarary, after an hour trying to prove this we were finally given a room for my wife, daughter and me, with two single beds? I booked(through expedia) for two bedrooms but I dont believe they even have these, we were then moved to a single room with two queen beds, unfortunately the wall was extremely mouldy and room smelt mouldy, shower (advertised as rainhead) would have been fine if I was 3ft tall, bath had no plug. In the morning the lady manager refused to top up milk container or food trays after a Chinese tour group had finished everything, this was at 7am and then spoke rudely to me in Vietnamese, we skipped breakfast as her response when I asked for some milk was to pull faces at me, glad I only booked for one night, avoid this one at all costs as there are many better hotels near by at the same price or less. Oh the beautiful sea views advertised were of a concrete wall of a new hotel...

I stayed here for two nights. The first night the AC was only circulating hot air so the reception had a look. No apologies or immediately solution. It was 'you can change rooms tomorrow'. Next day a different receptionist knocked on my door and woke me up as I did not sleep due to the disfuctioning AC. She brought the handyman in to check the AC while I was in bed half naked. She did ask if they were allowed to enter but it was really invasive and unprofessional. I told her I wasn't happy with my stay when checking out because of the above and she said: I called you but you did not pick up. What a bullshit reason. I was sleeping. It was around 10 AM... Second reason was the handy man is not located close. That is not my problem. She could have waited for me to go downstairs at 12 PM to switch to a different room and then ask the handyman to come. Or at least prediscussed it with me. She apologized but I wonder if she understood why. No compensation.

Location is great and while not spotless clean it's a good budget hotel. Except for...
