Maison Villa — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

The property looked nothing like the photos advertised online. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find the villa incomplete, dirty, and utterly unhygienic. There were heaps of rubbish scattered in some rooms, and the entire place was dusty and poorly maintained.

As a group of 12, we were appalled to discover that only one room had air conditioning. The stairs leading to the rooms were broken and unsafe, and many of the lights didn’t even work. The owner’s “solution” to this was to provide a single lamp for a room with no windows or air conditioning—completely inadequate and unsafe.

The state of cleanliness was horrifying. There was mould and dust in many of the rooms, including on the toilet seat. It was clear that no effort had been made to ensure the villa was habitable.

When we raised these issues with the owner and explained that we couldn’t stay due to the false advertising and the unsanitary conditions, he refused to refund the full amount. Instead, he only offered to return half of our payment, despite us being there for less than an hour.

I recently stayed at this villa, and I’m extremely disappointed. The property was nothing like the pictures advertised—it felt like a completely different place. Upon arrival, we noticed a multitude of discrepancies between what was shown in the photos and the reality of the villa.

The state of the villa was atrocious. There was dust and dirt over multiple surfaces, the door handle into one of the rooms was broken, the stairs were unstable and seemed like they were going to give way at any moment, and there was even a room filled with junk!

Additionally the air conditioning and multiple lights were not functional.

Naturally, we asked the host for a refund as the Villa was not what was advertised and we were not going to stay there however he advised he would only be refunding half the amount we paid for. When we raised our concerns he showed no sympathy and even encouraged us to write a negative review, this just shows what a greedy and apathetic host he is.

Overall, this villa did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, functionality, or comfort. Unless you’re after a pig sty of a villa and terrible customer service I wouldn’t recommend this...

I had an incredibly disappointing experience staying at this Airbnb. First, the air conditioning in one of our rooms wasn’t working, and despite informing the host, my concerns were completely ignored. It made the room unbearable, especially in the heat. To make matters worse, there was an awful smell throughout the entire place that made it difficult to stay inside.

The property itself was poorly maintained and unsafe. One of the wooden steps on the staircase was cracked, and when I stepped on it, I almost lost my balance and fell. We also had access to several random storage rooms that were not only cluttered but also had noticeable gaps and holes in the walls.

The overall cleanliness was shocking, and the rooms looked unsanitary and unlivable. The photos online are completely misleading – this villa does not look anything like what was advertised. We ended up leaving as soon as we checked in, opting for a last-minute hotel instead due to the poor conditions.
