Delicious pies. Really great. Also loved the pecan slice. But guuuuys. Hire some staff that have a sense of urgency. Everyone is off with the fairies. Staring absently into space, dawdling around with no real direction, took three staff to work out who would wipe our table down so we could eat. Line was out the door, but only because every staff person in there is just fluffing around? Have worked in customer service most of my life and I could have had all the customers out of there or seated and eating in less than 10 mins on my own, four staff on and nobody was getting anything done. Spoke to a local of Bright (I had come from Tawonga Sth) who said he has ended up late for work more than a few times because of the level of slow..we questioned if there was a gas leak or something as it seriously seemed like everyone was spaced out and on something. Are you guys ok in there??? Either open the register up to everyone so everyone gets their own customer's food or light a fire under your server and reg staff. Was beyond slow. I'm sorry, your pies really are lovely but you need more efficient staff, especially in...

As someone who has only recently arrived in Australia I've never really get the obsession with steak pies. Its very much a mediocre meal in Sydney - packed minced meat or worst, burger patties disguised as steak. Then the soggy bottom and pastry so thick it feels like you're chewing a piece of carpet. But as another reviewer here says "I have attained heaven" - well, he is not far from the truth.

The steak and mushroom pie - a very well-filled pie, mouth watering chunks of steak in buttery flaky pastry case. Infused with herbs and seasoning, I couldn't get enough of this delicious pie that I had 5 of them in the 2 days I was in Bright. Rich thick gravy and the beautiful mix of mushroom and large pieces of steak make up a satisfying meal. Strong beef aroma with hints of blackpepper and deliciously meaty and rich flavour goes really well with the peanut tart. Highly recommended!

I'd love to give this a 3 star actually, because for some unknown reason one particular cashier only ask for vaccine certificate from the asian members of my group (including me), but none from our white...

Made the journey ‘over the top’ to go fishing in Gippsland from Northern Victoria and visited twice on each leg, sampling five different pies in total (Sharing half pies with the Driver!):

Steak & Pepper - 9/10 Steak & Mushroom - 8/10 Curry Steak - 9/10 Lamb & Mint Jelly - 9/10 Thai Green Curry Chicken 9/10

Without reviewing each pie individually, the large steak pieces in the pie were beautifully set in gravy. The individual curry, pepper and mint jelly flavours didn’t need to be overpowering due to the high quality meat and weren’t. This was the best Curry Chicken Pie I’ve had too!

Outstanding value at $8.50 warm or $8 cold takeaway (due to the very high quality meat). The relish was delicious but cost $1 for a small plastic container. The staff were very friendly and all pies were stocked in the pie warmer.

I was honestly very close to handing out tens but felt that might be getting carried away. (I don’t give half stars).

Well worth dropping in and sampling. You won’t be sorry. Well done Gum...

Pies were amazing and definitely worth lining up for! They are quite popular so you wanna come earlier, they constantly have a queue and limited seating both inside and out, would recommend getting a seat first before you order. We ordered the green curry chicken pie, and steak and mushroom pie. Top of the pie was super crispy and has alot of filling and big chucks of chicken pieces, very coconuty. Steak and mushroom pie had big soft chunky tender steak pieces inside, we really wanted to try the sausage roll, unfortunately was still cooking and came out 5-10 minutes after we ordered and we were told they did’nt have any sausage rolls only what’s on the list they told us were available. They replenish the pies pretty quickly, the pies have a really high turnover as people order takeaway pies too. Would recommend using a fork to eat it due to the massive chucky pieces inside.
