Good little market in the middle of downtown. Yes it's small and cramped but you will find lots of organic produce here including local vegetables, fruit as well as more harder to find ingredients such as dried porchini mushrooms, fresh tumeric root, broccoli sprouts and more. Lots of great quality oils, condiments, lots of general "health food" items. They also have a good selection of gluten free, yeast free breads, crackers, pasta. There is a small limited selection of meats - deli, ready cooked and also pre marinated raw, of excellent quality as well as being delicious. A nice and varied selection of ready cooked meals to go including hot foods, freshly cooked, sushi, salads and more. Definitely worth coming in if you are in the area and looking for healthy and tasty food to go. Overall for the downtown location it's a great little local gourmet market. Wheelchair accessible BUT be warned the aisles are TINY. I didn't give this a full 5 because the store assistants aren't particularly helpful and it is...
Read moreThis used to be my go-to lunch spot but now I think I’ve gone for the last time as I’ve just half finished a sad lunch wrap that was overpriced.
I don’t know how Wild they are, but Fresh they are not. Before, ready made sandwiches and meals were updated daily. Now things are regularly 2-3 days old (and soggy) on the shelves. As per the other recent reviewers, all of the quality that made this store worth the extra money is gone.
Speaking of money, prices have sneakily been increased at now they charge tax on top of what they list on their product as “Total Price”. So what used to be $10.99 all-in now costs almost $13. And given the quality went down, this is pretty unacceptable.
Unique products gone. Quality gone. Even the usual staff I enjoyed saying “hi” to seem to have all been replaced, or they smartly left.
Bestco recently opened just around the corner and has superior product quality and inspected far more competitively. Will not be back...
Read moreSince it has been under new ownership there has been a huge and obvious decline in every aspect of this store. The gourmet products (soups in jars, interesting canned goods) have been removed entirely, or replaced with down-market products like Campbell's Soup. The prepared meals that were delicious and so convenient to pick up on the way home have disappeared entirely. The meat counter is virtually empty. The produce is spoiled and gross. The store doesn't open till 10am which renders the coffee/tea bar useless to anyone who wants to stop in on the way to work. The great sandwich at the coffee counter have disappeared. The nice shelving has been replace by tacky metal shelving. The store feels dingy and down-market. I've now stopped going there at all. Why anyone would take over a boutique grocery store and turn in into this is beyond me. Can't imagine it will stay in business at this rate as there are way too many other options in the...
