So I wanted to buy a cup of coffee before getting on the plane. I couldnât find any cups near the coffee machine so I wanted to ask an employee where to get one. Because I donât speak french, I learned one sentence in advance: âpardon! Parlez vou anglais?â and thatâs what I asked the employee (I think he was the oldest one, a tall guy) first before wanting to ask for the cups. Instead of a friendly âyes, how can I help youâ or anything like this (that Iâm normally used to in shops) he started to talk to me in french in a rude manner probably saying something like âyou speak french but want me to talk to you in english?!â followed by an angry âwhat do you wantâ. after his about 6 french sentences and my confused face he probably realised that I really didnât speak french... I was so overwhelmed that I just turned around and left without a coffee instead of talking back. I know it was early in the morning and I was tired, too, but you canât talk to customers like this and even making fun of them with other french customers afterwards. (?!) I donât speak french, but I understand some words and this behaviour can even be understood without any knowledge of language. Unfortunately you canât do a review of 0 stars so I had to give one but as a note to the manager: you should probably have a meeting with your employees and tell them (this one especially) how to talk to customers and not to scare them off (especially not making fun of them or...
Read moreI put 3 stars not because of the quality of the shop but of the idea to put britishs shops all over the most important aeroport in France. It's just make no sens, the only possible is that M&S putted big package of money on the tible to be on this airport. Strores all very good, food is quite good with some exeptions: italian meals have really no taste, and fruits taste all the same carton-water thing, don't buy fruits in M&S. Big plus are employees that are very nice really and since I work here from two years I had no exeption. But still I comme back to the idea that british shop is the one that dominate this french airport, and it's the shop that is not so visible in Paris, as McDo that you could think "ok it's already frenchlike" I like very much british people no problem, but there are shops like Monoprix that could be a perfect set for this place. It's becaue in M&S they promote british food, tradition ect. very strongly.. So really I don't see the point..unless again cash....
Read moreVery disappointed in the customer service at Marks & Spenser CDG this morning.
Having just arrived on an overnight flight from Canada, I did not have a reusable grocery bag with me. Therefore, I took my basket of items to the cashier rather than self checkout. However, when I responded âcardâ to the cashierâs abrupt and rude âcash or cardâ greeting, she moved my items to self checkout in a derisive huff, scanned them at lightening speed, told me to insert my card, turned her back on me (eyes rolling) and took the next customer at the cash register before I could ask for a bag that she needed to provide from behind her cash register.
When I went back to her at the cash register and asked for a grocery bag, she practically threw one at me and asked for payment in cash only. I only had a Canadian $1 coin so her attitude was âtoo bad, no bag for youâ! Her next customer took my $1 Canadian and paid the 25 cents euro and I finally got my...
