The Hut Home Stay — Local services in Karnataka

Stayed at “The Hut Home Stay” in Madikeri as a group of 6 and had a great experience. We checked a few other hotels and homestays, but they were pricier and not as clean. This place stood out for value, cleanliness, and convenience.The room was very spacious with a clean bed and bathroom, plus a TV for entertainment. Breakfast isn’t provided, but that wasn’t a problem because the property is right opposite the Madikeri bus stand. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, so food options are super easy.

Another big plus is their on-site scooter rental. We rented 3 scooters from them and all were in perfect condition. Highly recommend renting from the same place you’re staying, saves time and makes the trip smoother.

The property owner deserve a special mention. Spoke mostly with a lady who was very friendly and warm; actually, the couple runs the homestay and lives on-site. Their understanding and the calm, peaceful way they live really impressed us.

We stayed here for 2 nights, Kavitha aunty was really nice and supportive. Rooms are of comfortable size and the bathroom was really clean with hot water through the day. We were provided with basic toiletries and RO water. There is a small kitchen as well with some utensils for basic cooking. Location is one of the highlights about this homestay, it is really close to the bus stand, jeep stand and multiple food options.

One downside is that during monsoon, the walls tend to get really damp, leading to mould on the walls and bedding, in addition to limited ventilation as windows had to stay closed for rains. This detracted from an otherwise amazing stay.
