On Thanksgiving week my partner and I were visiting PV and scheduled an appointment via their website. Three days later, on the day of the massage, someone from HAMAM called us saying “there was a glitch in the system” and he didn’t notice someone else was booked exactly at the same time and day of our massage. My partner and I were disappointed, but understood the situation.
On the week of December 20th, I booked another appointment and on December 25 I called HAMAM to confirm my appointment. The guy who answered me (I assume it’s the front desk guy) confirmed my appointment! Unfortunately, today I received an email and later a call from the same guy saying “there was a glitch in the system” and could no longer accommodate my appointment! This makes me think that whoever controls the appointments decides who takes the massage and who doesn’t! They (probably) “pick” or decide who they want to take the appointments! I now wonder what is this decision based on?!?!
In short, please STAY AWAY of this place and be aware that you’ll probably be profiled to decide if you keep the appointment or not. My partner and I decided to go to another place where customer service is exceptional and you are treating like a human being: with respect.
(Name of the other spa: Acqua Spa for Men in PV.)
Response: I missed his called and when I called him back on Friday he said “yes, your appointment is confirmed”. You can check that I’m sure.
By the way, this “very unusual” circumstance like you called it...happened twice in less than a month. I wonder...Are you choosing who gets the service and who doesn’t. If so how? Seriously, it’s so sad to see such a great place with such a poor customer service. IF the problem is a glitch, then I suggest calling IT to fix it. This is my second time trying to schedule an appointment and my partner and I are VERY...
Read moreThis spa has changed. Last week I had Juan Carlos for a two spa treatmens.. When I checked in I was not offered their posing briefs. I wore the towel they offered me. Needless to say, that did not go over well with Juan Carlos at this Hamam. Juan Carlos told me he was using black soap on me. I know black soap and he did not use it. I know it is low season and they cut corners. They claim to be "professional" spa. A "professional "spa would not treat clients like this. "Professional" employees would not lie.
In the past I have rated this spa favorable. Unfortunately the vibe/ business has changed. They like to offer health advise. Yet they lack the M.D. behind their name. I requested another attendant. I was told he went home early sick. They told me, we will try to provide the attendant you request, if available. Please remember this service is 145.00 usd. plus tip. Better and lower cost services are available elsewhere. "Aqua" turkish spa comes to mind. They don't mind nudity. Their attendants do their job and keep their mouths shut. That is professional in my book. Thank you for your time and...
Read moreHighly recommend this Hamam experience. I’ve had a Hamam experience in the past - but I have to say, this far exceeded my expectations. The whole experience from the booking to arrival to the actual Hamam was exceptional! I felt completely spoiled… Huge thanks to my practitioner - Mauro - he definitely has a gift of providing energy, care and an exceptional experience … big thanks!
**I'm adding to my review - traditional Hammam's are not about modesty... it can perhaps be awkward for a first-time goer. Centuries of goers unrobe and barely cover up. It really is apart of the experience. Don't be shy. It is a body positive environment! Hammam is simplicity. Enjoy.
*Addition - July 2024 - this place remains consistent! I book every time I visit PV and they don’t disappoint. From the greeting to the carefully curated experience - this spa has got it down pat! Definitely agree with a past review, book upon arrival as sunburned skin or sun sensitive skin will feel painful during the scrub portion of the experience. Don’t miss out. You won’t regret it.
I have no issue highly...
