Kope Barber Shop — Local services in North Island

So the other day at about 2pm I 'hobbled' in on my crutches hoping to beat the after school rush only to find the 'CLOSED' sign on the door. Thankfully Izzy let me in and I discovered that they had been so busy they hadn't even had a lunchbreak, but she was willing to see me if I didn't mind waiting a little longer . . . . I didn't mind at all. Despite all of that Izzy and her Team were upbeat and laughing and smiling but I could tell that she needed to get off her feet. It's that 'aroha' she has for her customers that deserves this 5 star review but I have also nominated them for the 2024 Prospa Local Business Hero's. Nga mihi nui.

Mean as experience at Kope Barber today! The young fella handled cutting my screaming nephews hair (first ever haircut) with ease, looks so good too! And then the bro with dreadlocks doing my fiancé’s hair at the same time did an awesome job too. Always struggle to find a good barber so when we back in Whakatane next we will deffs be back!! Cheap as haircuts too!!! Churr

Neighbourhood barber vibe. Can feel a bit overlooked at some of the CBD barbers if you're not a certain customer. Friendly, unpretentious and the best price in Whk I've found so far. Lady who chopped my mop off had a great skillset (beard/fade/razor work) and knew what she was doing.
