I called in advance to specifically ask for an appointment with a trichologist, as I was looking for professional help regarding hair loss. The administrative staff told me that seeing a dermatologist would be enough and assured me that the dermatologist could handle the consultation.
However, when I arrived for the appointment, the dermatologist immediately told me she didn’t have the necessary equipment to properly examine my scalp or hair. All she could do was check if I had dandruff or scalp irritation — which wasn’t the reason I booked the appointment. I was very clear that I wanted to see a trichologist, and the administrative team insisted it was the same.
To make matters worse, the dermatologist told me that shaving my face frequently would help hair grow on my scalp because the testosterone would “go there instead”? — something I’ve since confirmed has absolutely no scientific basis.
In the end, I paid €80 for a consultation that didn’t meet my expectations at all. The dermatologist herself said from the start that she wasn’t equipped to do the kind of analysis I needed. The clinic even misspelled my name in their system and acted like they didn't care about it... I felt misinformed and disappointed — especially by the administration, who could have simply told me that the clinic does not have a dermatologist specialized in trichology and lacks the equipment needed to assess hair loss properly.
I have felt compelled to leave a review as the price for a quick doctors visit was extortionate and lots of families on holidays would not be able to afford this. We had a less than 10 minute consult for my son where they confirmed food positioning and a gave a prescription for motilium. The doctor was friendly and pleasant and there was a nurse standing in the room as well. We were charged 195 euro for the visit (the bill was made up of a list of charges, including 45 euro for the nurse standing in the room). I am fully aware that they will reply and say there rates are within the stipulated range in Spain for private medicine, but let me confirm they are not the norm and this is taking advantage. 20 mins from here we have been to private doctors that charge 80 euro for a visit and another 40 euro (yes these are up to date proces for 2024) . This was also 4pm in the evening, not an emergency call out or anything. I honestly just want to warn parents that may not be able to afford this that there are much cheaper options not far. I have lots of family that live on the island and they were all appalled when we told them. Also just to advise a lot of doctors in this area close at 3pm and do walk ins earlier in the morning so if you are thinking about a doctor go earlier in the day if can or my options may get more limited and this is what happened to us.
Unfortunately it was a negative experience this time, even though I was very satisfied with their service almost a year ago. Had to wait 20 minutes to be attended for my appointment, without the receptionist giving me previously a waiting time or letting me know in advance that they're late. The dental hygiene was done quick and it felt incomplete in comparison with others that I had done (one at the same center, by a different person). Then I had to wait again for the next appointment, which was with the dentist (a different one than the one who's done the treatment, and who was unaware of the reason of the appointment ). Anyway, that lasted 5 minutes and again waiting to find out the quote for the treatment. 1h 20 minutes in total for 30 minutes that lasted the appointments. Unprofessional. Went there 99% decided for the treatment, left 99% decided of not doing the treatment with this center. My suggestions, based on this experience are: -please let the patient know if there's waiting time and the duration of it, also please let him/she know in advance that he/she will be treated by a different doctor -it would be awesome and professional if the new doctor knows the history of the patient Thanks.
