NearX suit review.

I LOVE this suit and will be thoroughly recommending it to anyone who is prepared to listen! The construction and materials are all top of the line and use the latest technology, and the service from Andromeda is excellent.

The main (UHMWPE) fabric has a really nice look and feel, it's hard to describe but it's kind of like a coated denim when you get up close and touch it. Otherwise it looks like a "normal" suit, but sits more nicely as it's not stiff like leather so molds to your body better. The accordion type panels give movement in the right areas, and the Superfabric on the high impact areas gives it a really sharp look . You don't even know the Kevlar lining is there unless you go looking for it, and in spite of being an extra layer it still feels more comfortable than leather.

As it’s a custom suit I was half expecting the suit to look a bit home made but the workmanship is top notch, very professionally done. The Andromeda logo on the forearms is subtle and is made of individually cut and stitched on letters which is a nice touch. The logo on the back and front is printed on the fabric.

The fit of the suit has far exceeded my expectations – it's like it was made just to fit me (ok it was but I was still half expecting it might be a bit out here and there). When I first put it on it felt weird, as I'm used to wearing more touring based gear, but once I hopped on my bike it just feels perfect. I knew to expect this but was actually shocked at how good it feels in a riding position. With no restrictive waistband you just feel free and easy to move about on the bike.

The zips all seem to be good quality and not too chunky, so they don't stick or catch the fabric.

The lining is a combination of a soft perforated fabric and a softer more stretchy non perforated fabric around knees etc. It feels very comfortable.

The amour is Sas tec and I'm impressed by how will it molds to your body and doesn't dig in. The back protector has a large coverage and is sewn into a pocket in a way that allows the bottom half to move independently to the suit, so when you sit it doesn't push the protector up at the back of your neck. It has a coccyx protector which I didn't even realise was there until I'd worn it a couple of times and was having a closer look at the lining. All the armour sits in the right place and feels comfortable.

I ride on the cold side so am not a good judge on the warmth level of clothing but I will say that I was easily able to adjust the warmth of the suit by simply tucking a neck buff inside the neck opening or removing it to add plenty of air flow in the top of the suit.

I had a great experience with the service provided, as I was in the first batch they sent regular updates as they imported their fabric, battled with covid restrictions, created the individual patterns for each order etc. I emailed them a number of times both before and after I ordered for info regarding the suits and how to take the measurements and the responses were always very prompt same day/next day in spite of being in the opposite time zone. I'm in New Zealand and it was great that they automatically deducted the VAT from the price, so I didn't end up being double taxed when I paid the equivalent NZ version (GST) on arrival here.

The measuring chart is comprehensive and includes diagrams. I was very nervous about getting this wrong and sent a number of emails to Andromeda, who were always very patient and happy to check with their tailors and assist. They even picked up on a couple of measurements I'd done incorrectly during the pattern making process, as they compared mine with others in the same height and weight range.

I requested my suit be made without an aerodynamic back hump, and while they recommended against it for safety reasons they were happy to accommodate my request which was great. Often you'd be charged extra for having something non-standard but not the case here.

No regrets - would definitely...

I recently purchased a pair of motorcycle gloves, and I couldn't be happier with the quality and performance they offer! These gloves are an absolute game-changer for any rider, whether you're commuting daily or embarking on long road trips.

Comfort and Fit The gloves fit like a second skin, providing exceptional comfort without feeling bulky. The ergonomic design ensures a snug fit while allowing full mobility for gripping and controlling the handlebars. Even after hours of riding, my hands feel relaxed and free from fatigue.

Protection Safety is always a top priority when riding, and these gloves deliver outstanding protection. The reinforced knuckle guards and padded palms provide peace of mind in case of unexpected impacts. The durable material also shields my hands from abrasions and road debris. Riding feels much safer knowing my hands are well-protected.

Weather Resistance These gloves handle various weather conditions like a pro! On colder days, they keep my hands warm without overheating, thanks to their breathable yet insulating design. They're also water-resistant, so light rain is no problem at all. For summer rides, the ventilation system prevents sweaty palms, making them versatile for year-round use.

Grip and Control The textured palms offer excellent grip on the handlebars, even in wet conditions. I’ve noticed improved control during rides, especially when braking or accelerating. The anti-slip feature adds an extra layer of confidence while navigating tricky terrains.

Style Let’s not forget about style! These gloves look fantastic with their sleek design and modern aesthetic. They complement my riding gear perfectly and add a touch of professionalism to my overall look.

Final Thoughts If you're looking for motorcycle gloves that combine comfort, safety, durability, and style, these are an excellent choice. They’ve truly enhanced my riding experience, and I highly recommend them to anyone who values quality gear. Worth...

I had been searching high and low for a vegan race suit I could wear confidently at the track. The NearX fits me perfectly, incorporates the latest tech., offers superior protection, and looks incredible. I was able to throw it on and ride immediately after I received it without any break-in period. I zipped up and it was perfect. The materials, design, build, quality – everything is top-notch.

I’m also very happy with the Meteor gloves I got which incorporate all the features I wanted: palm slider, palm cushion, vents, pinky finger bridge, double-stitching. At first, I felt they might be bulkier than my conventional leather gloves but that impression faded entirely after a very short break-in period. Feel for the controls is spot-on now.

Lastly, I have to say: Andromeda impressed me by their professionalism and responsiveness. They were attentive every step of the way to make sure my questions were answered and my measurements were accurate, even spotting some discrepancies and helping me fix them. When the suit was ready, shipping to the USA was very quick (3 days). They also firmly believe in sustainability and I’m stoked they’re around to help mitigate my footprint without compromising on safety or quality. I hope they expand their collection because I will be buying again from this company and recommending them to my peers, friends, and family.

This review is my own initiative and my genuine impressions with the hope that we can see more products like this. If you’re hesitating; go for it. These guys are...

Great company. First became aware of Andromeda Moto in 2020; as a vegan and a biker I was keen to support them and try their products. I bought the Meteor Gloves and was one of the first to order the NearX suit. The suit offers loads of protection (feel very safe wearing it) and is genuinely extremely comfortable. It is almost like wearing a onesie. Up-close it doesn't look like leather but the materials have been chosen to be as safe as possible as opposed to being an imitation leather suit. The gloves look just like leather racing gloves and fit perfectly over the suit. I generally struggle with gloves as I have fat palms and short fingers, but these fit okay. Customer service was great. Being a start-up operating throughout a global pandemic and the UK changing its relationship with the EU meant there were inevitably some issues with production and delivery. However communication was excellent and they bent over backwards to be helpful, proactive and even sent a couple of free gifts to apologise for a delay that was the fault of the courier when I exchanged medium gloves for small. I look forward to seeing the company grow and (hopefully) thrive in a world that is gradually becoming more ethical and sustainable. Would be great to see their products in UK retailers in the future to make purchasing even quicker and easier.
