It's unfortunate that I'm having to give this place a bad review, but they have no respect for serious customers. I wanted to deliver a PS4 gaming console with accessories and a bunch of games to my nephew (who is not in the same town as I am) on the day of his birthday (tomorrow which is a Sunday). Best case was to buy online for 24 hour delivery (which would have been Monday) or have it delivered to his local store for pick up. After shopping around online on Walmart and Bestbuy, they didn't have the bundle that I wanted, I ended up at gamestop. Called the nephew's local gamestop store in MS at asked if they carried the bundle I wanted (and they did) and if I could buy it online or pay for it on the phone, they stated neither was possible (delivery would take longer than the birthday) but the best case scenario would be for me to walk into a gamestop store in my town and buy a gift card for the amount I was trying to spend and they would gladly take the gift card number with pin over the phone or in person from my nephews parents. So I priced everything that I needed with the person on the phone in the MS store and the total came about 650. I go to my local gamestop (this one at north point mall in GA) and after a long and patient wait in line for about 25 minutes, the assistant manager treats me as if I'm there to commit fraud. She had to call her district manager (after reviewing my credit card and GA issued driver's license) and the district manager declined the transaction, citing the transaction amount was "too much".. It was kinda frustrating as the assistant manager knew what I was there for and for what amount (she asked me while I was waiting in line). Oh well I told them that they lost my business and kindly left the store. I was actually thinking of buying a console for myself as well so ultimately this was going to be well over $1000 sale. Thankfully Walmart doesn't have the same policies and about the same stock that I was after, though not the bundle I wanted but whatever, I bought my nephew the extra game that I wanted in the bundle, and Walmart earned the extra dollars.. Sorry gamestop, this was my first and only experience at your store.. and the impact of this experience will be more than just this one transaction that you...
Read moreI just purchased a $40 gift card in the store. The guy working there, who would not give me his name, said unfortunately they cannot print receipts right now. So I just spent $40 on a gift card that I have no proof that I purchased! I asked him to email me a screenshot or something and he refused. Then I asked for a note With his name on it to verify that I actually made the purchase. He was very defiant about it and finally did it, he was extremely rude only gave me his initials and the handwriting is pretty much illegible. This reeks of a scam. How can you have customers purchase things and not give them a receipt of purchase? I will be reaching out to corporate tomorrow to remedy this situation. I have never heard of anything like this in my life. If they cannot give receipts they should not be open....
Read moreDonât buy a used console, parts missing, crusty controllers. They know they are selling stuff that doesnât work. Tina or Trina sold us two crap stations with missing and broken parts. Since then weâve been up here more than 5 times trying to get returns and every time we come their âmachine isnât workingâ Trina also made us incredibly uncomfortable as she tried to upsell us anything she possibly could, even disk games when we were purchasing a digital only copy, from that to trying to sell us bags to carry our consoles outside. I get youâre trying to make profit but read the room??? So annoying!!!
I feel so bad for Nick. The only one who has been helping us. Please rescue him from the incompetence happening at that store. He...
