Went to the grand opening on Sat. 10/28. They had 4 or 5 kittens in the adoption area with absolutely no information on them at all. No indication as to adoption fees, whether the kittens were male or female. The only thing I noticed was a sign indicating the rescue organization that was sponsoring them. A gentleman who was also looking at the kittens had a clerk come over so he could look at one of the kittens. She said she could open the door but not touch them because she was allergic. You work in a pet store. Shouldn't you be able to handle ALL animals?? She didn't seem very knowledgeable on the adoption fee, process or anything else. She indicated you would have to call the rescue place to adopt a kitten. Really? So I couldn't walk out with a kitten that same day?? How do you adopt these kittens out in a timely manner if you have to jump through hoops. I can go to the AHS and walk out with my new pet an hour later. If the rescue places you use to draw attention to homeless animals does not provide adoption information onsite and your staff seems even less knowledgeable then perhaps it's time to transfer all of these wonderful animals to the AHS where they will be adopted out in days. Please either have someone from the rescue place on hand, especially during grand openings, or train your staff to be more informative to prospective adopters so these animals can go home to families sooner rather than later. Read moreHurtful and discriminatory behavior from the general manager Garrett at this Petco location. We are avid Petco customers and typically shop at a location closer to our home in North Loop. However, I was out running errands today and decided to stop in, expecting the same great customer service.
I came in to redeem a free bag of dog food, which we were excited about since the food is already pretty pricey, and we’re trying to be frugal. At the counter, the initial encounter with another young employee was fine; she was having trouble applying my coupon. After a few attempts, the general manager, Garrett, stepped in to help. They initially thought it was a register issue, but when the problem persisted, he called the customer service line for assistance.
The customer service rep suggested that Garrett override the purchase—a solution Garrett clearly stated he could do, but simply didn’t want to because, in his words, it ‘wasn’t the right thing to do.’ He implied I might try to use the coupon again to get another free bag, which felt both disrespectful and discriminatory.
Garrett ended the call mid-conversation, leaving the rep on the line who was trying to assist Dominique, who then called me shortly after to help resolve the issue. Not only was Garrett dismissive toward me as a customer, but he was also rude toward his coworker.

Read moreI’m sad to write this as I like giving the benefit of the doubt but I’m quite displeased with our experience. Typically we go to the Minnetonka location and the vets there are kind, attentive and caring. Unfortunately I did not feel that way at the Bloomington location. They were short staffed (I get that happens but also not my responsibility) and the system was down which caused a major delay (I guess?) I dropped off my baby at 10am and was told about 3 hrs. She said I’d get a text when he was finished. So I went about my errands for the day and came back at 1:30 after not hearing from them. I heard him crying in the back and it broke my heart. He doesn’t like the blow dryer so he had to air dry (understandable) so they said another 45 min but I’ll get a call when there’s about 20 min left. No call - no text - nothing. So I return at 2:45 (1:15 min later) and he was finished & crying again in the back. When I saw him... I was so disappointed. His shave is uneven, his tail looks pretty terrible and his Afro has no fade, just a choppy line between shave and long hair.
