Many video game stores, both in Ohio and beyond, have struggled in recent years. With the rise of online sales and dedicated resellers, much of the available inventory is quickly absorbed, while collectors often hold onto their games rather than trading them in. As a result, many physical retailers—including GameStop—face noticeable inventory challenges.
With that said, this particular GameStop location is a standout. For those of us who still enjoy walking into a store filled entirely with video game–related merchandise, the experience here is refreshing—something you simply can’t replicate online.
The store manager has been a constant presence for many years, and she is truly one of the best. She strikes the right balance: engaging without being pushy, conversational yet respectful. When she interacts with customers, it never feels condescending, which is rare in retail. While staffing can occasionally be hit-or-miss, as it is everywhere, I’ve noticed that employees who aren’t a good fit don’t tend to remain long. If you’ve had a less-than-ideal experience in the past, I would recommend giving this location another try after some time.
One of GameStop’s smartest recent decisions has been reintroducing “Retro” titles to their stores, and this location carries a selection that compares favorably to others in the region. Of course, collecting requires patience. You can’t expect to find a hidden gem every visit. Personally, I’d estimate that nearly half the time I stop in, I discover something worthwhile for my collection—and often at a fair price. Pricing can vary: sometimes competitive with online marketplaces, sometimes higher, and occasionally surprisingly low.
Where this store truly shines, however, is in its promotions. GameStop’s recurring sales—such as “Buy 2, Get 1 Free,” “4 for $20” on games under $10, or “4 for $40” on games under $20—regularly provide excellent value. With patience, these deals can significantly stretch your collecting budget.
I’ve been a customer at this location since it first opened, and I continue to be impressed by its consistency and atmosphere. While many retailers have struggled, this GameStop remains a reliable destination, and I plan to support it for as long...

"Times are a changin"
I got money put on a prepaid card instead of cash. Which was ok. But just makes it that much harder to have to get cash out via prepaid card.
The prices for selling items to the store is way to low. And to be a pro member and store credit to get the max dollar amount is not really something I was fond of learning. The fact that store credit is given at a higher value than actual cash almost sets game stop up for debasing their own dollar value for items. Giving higher in store credit and then using store credit doe items in store rather than services ect makes the value of the actual dollar lower to game stops currency monetization.
Then the customer comes spends store credit he for trading a system to get store credit. The fact no actual currency was exchanged minimizes the Intake of actual dollar bills.
Game stop can have all the money via appraisal value of good on paper, but at the end of the day. Money talks
Overall, the people working are dope and not prude or to closed off to the real world lol they were nice and friendly and didn't hurry or go slow with my transactions.

Update:
The old manager has left the store and the new store lead, who has been there for a while has taken over. Night and Day!! She is personable, easy to work with and will let me browse the store. She even remembers small things I told her about my life which makes the experience all the better. Store is much more comfortable and I recommend...
