So I went into GameStop yesterday to look at trading in my PlayStation and getting a newer Xbox. I was told by an employee that he would price match my Xbox that I was purchasing to the $400 price online. He said that if I brought in my PlayStation 5 that I would get trade in credit plus 10% and extra for any extra controllers that I had.
I went all the way back to Jefferson and reset my console and drove all the way back out to chardon to trade in my PlayStation to get a newer Xbox. I get all the way home and I start looking at my receipt and I realize that a couple things were wrong.
The gentleman told me that if I renewed my pro membership that I would not be charged for it because I traded in a console. Upon looking at my receipt, I actually did get charged $24 and $23. If I would have known that I was going to get charged $24 I would have just put it under my fiance's account who already has an active pro membership.
The other thing that he had stated was that he would give us the Xbox for 400 new because that's what it was showing on their website that they would price match that and that he would go ahead and give it to us for the 400 because we traded in a console. I didn't get $50 off it shows promotion not found under the $50 - under the Xbox, I got charged $436.10 not 400 like he said.
I called the store to try to see about the extra money that I spent and they said "unfortunately because I would have to return everything or basically pay them to get a refund that there's nothing that they could do about it that I misunderstood and I didn't actually get charged for those things"
If you actually calculate the credits I got $616 in trade-in credit for my PlayStation 5, my Nintendo switch, and an extra PlayStation controller. My GameStop pro renewal should have been free but instead I only got $0.77 off so I paid $24.23 for that renewal, again, wouldn't have paid it if I would have known I was gonna get charged.
I paid $174.43 for a steel series headset. I paid $436.10 for the Xbox, which should have only been 400. I paid $9.50 for a pokémon toy, $7.35 for pokémon toy, $19.32 for a pokémon playing card mat, $96.90 for an Xbox headset for my fiance, $9.50 for a pokémon toy, and I pre-ordered the new pokémon Umbreon for $13.87.
My purchase total came out to $791.20 and if you calculate from my credits all the way back to my purchase total I got overcharged $24.23 and an additional $36.10 and they're telling me there's nothing they can...
Read moreI always love the service and the people that work there are friendly and helpful... I wish that I was able to purchase one single copy of the game informer magazine june issue with the Marvel cover. There was a stack of about 30 of them on the counter but I was told that I couldn't purchase one. I could get a subscription for 14.99 but I don't want that.. I don't like how the address is on them.. This was intended for collection purposes.. The worker was just doing his job so I'm not complaining.. But to the people that are in charge... What's up with that?? Why have all these copies of a magazine at the front desk if they can't be sold individually?? Doesn't make...
Read moreFriendly shop! I went in with an idea of what kind of game I wanted and the situation in which I was looking to play. Devin took their time and went over a few games they recommended. The one I went with I had absolutely no clue about - Octopath Travellers II. I really was worried it wouldn't be my jam, but without even saying anything Devin suggested 'it takes a few hours to figure out what's going on, but then it's awesome' and Devin was spot on. I almost put it down only an hour in but figured, with the worry free return policy, might as well keep going... and after over 100 HOURS OF PLAY, it was my fav game of 2023....
