While Madrone Hall itself may seem like a standard student dorm, it's impossible to ignore the broader safety concerns surrounding UC Davis housing areas. One of the most tragic reminders came when a student was struck and killed by a garbage truck near the dorms — a heartbreaking event that followed multiple prior complaints about vehicle safety in the area.
