GameStop — Local services in Destin

Douglas helped us today and we are SO THANKFUL. He completely changed our entire experience. We almost decided to stop shopping at Gamestop altogether.

My husband went to Gamestop yesterday to get me the newer xbox as a surprise. My husband is a loyal PS customer so he truly has no idea about xboxes so he asked the worker, Christopher, twice if he was purchasing the newest xbox. He told him that he was certain it was the right one, it was not. He got home and it was the xbox one s not the series s, so we took a trip together back to Gamestop to return the xbox one. When we arrived, Christopher said he would help us momentarily but then proceeded to tell us he couldn’t process a return until at least 24 hours after the purchase, something I have NEVER heard from any company especially Gamestop. I called the number on the receipt and the corporate worker told me that was very much NOT a policy in ANY gamestop. When I called the store to speak to a manager about the situation and how to get the items returned, Christopher answered and told me he was the manager and he didn’t have to speak to me and that it WAS a policy. A huge ordeal for a $250 refund we weren’t able to get for no reason.

Today we went back to Gamestop to talk to someone else about the return and Douglas went out of his way to help us in every way possible. He was very kind and so courteous. He even discounted the newer xbox for our troubles with the other employee! We did not expect that at all, honestly we were told the night before that they didn’t even have a xbox series s in store. This GameStop is definitely back dooring pokemon products, went to Mary Esther to confirm they would have stock at the drop they said they would have the same stock. We called this exact GameStop to which the manager said they had ALOT. Got there on drop day and they had 0 bundles, 6 poster collections, and 14 boosters. While this store has always got small stock they have never gotten zero & when we’ve asked before the number we were told were the same on the door. Now all the sudden they have no stock? The lady almost screwed us out of getting our cards at all because of this, at this point we’re about to say screw GameStop and the membership..
