Read moreThere simply aren't enough adjectives to express how much I love The Grove Strength and Conditioning. Do yourself a favor and run to this gym for your initial (free) consultation. Matt works with you to understand your goals and has the extensive expertise to provide a plan of action to get you there. Once you are in a class, you will be hooked. If you are like me, you have probably been to multiple gyms. At The Grove you are NOT just a number. Matt runs small classes and has eyes on each client. He is extremely focused on technical skills and makes adjustments and modifications in real-time. This is a game changer! He is so adept at his craft and loves to share his knowledge and excitement. Its infectious... you can't help but be excited too. Another benefit to small classes is that you get to spend time working out with wonderful, supportive people. (I have a "tribe" now!) Matt's personal training goes way beyond the gym. He focuses on the whole person - for him it's more than just the workouts. My sleep schedule has changed drastically, and my food intake is far more consistent and thought-out. He has helped me in so many ways - I just can't thank him enough! I've had the pleasure of working with Matt for 8 years now. Before coming here, I would have to drag myself to a gym - now it's my favorite time of the day! I don't know of many people (outside of Grove members) that see workouts as "guilty pleasures". This is something I do just for myself. I am stronger and in better shape that I have ever been, and I feel healthy and happy. Coming to The Grove was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I would encourage you to come and see what Matt...
Read moreI am writing this review to express my deep, deep gratitude for The Grove.
I started experimenting with gyms and personal training about 5 years ago after realizing the toll a lifetime of being a sedentary desk jockey was taking on my body. In that time, I’ve spent countless hours (and dollars) on trainers to help me live a more active life. While I’ve made good progress with trainers in the past, none compare to Matt Groves. I have made more progress with him in 3 months than I have in the past 5 years with other trainers.
As a small group personal training client, workouts are designed specifically for me. The amount of thought, detail, and knowledge that goes into creating these workouts blows me away. The only thing better than the workouts is Matt’s ability to coach me through them and adjust them to whatever my body is bringing that day. If something isn’t feeling right or I’m struggling to understand a movement, Matt is always right there to give the perfect cue – often with humor, always with empathy, patience, and kindness.
The atmosphere at the Grove – both physically and culturally – is also in a different league than other gyms I’ve been to. The extensive array of equipment is top-notch, clean and well maintained as are the locker rooms and private showers. The culture is welcoming, non-judgmental, and supportive. It’s a place that seems to attract good, chill people and it’s hard not to feel good when I’m there.
This place is really something special and is a shining reflection of the dedication, hard work, and generosity that went into creating it. I am so thankful...
