Was publicly humiliated in the drive thru by the pharmacist. I have been severely, chronically ill for almost 6 years and take several medications as a result. My doctor is in Boston as that is where we lived when we first moved here and he knows my complicated history well. Also, whenever I have to go to the hospital I have to go to MGH as these other hospitals are not capable of treating my complex health problems. It is a pain having to drive all the way to Boston for my doctorās appointments, and I usually have to rush back to NH after to get my kids from school on time, so I take my prescriptions to this Rite Aid or the nearby CVS, which are on my way home. A couple of my medications, that I take every month and have for years, are āalways out of stockā. My husband (as I am too sick to drive all over New England), is always sent from pharmacy to pharmacy on a wild goose chase every month to find a pharmacy with my medication. Even the pharmacy next to my doctorās office almost always says they donāt have my medication in stock. Sometimes, my doctor even has had to substitute my medication so we can find a pharmacy with it. When thereās a delay, I am bedridden. I have young children and canāt afford to be bedridden, unable to eat or even get dressed due to being unable to find my medication.
Weāve moved 4 times to 4 different states in 3 years due to my husbandās job. I donāt stop being sick just because we move. Because of that and my many hospitalizations and the wild goose chase to find my medication every month, I have had to get my medication from different pharmacies and have seen different doctors. I have no control over this. The Rite Aid pharmacist, however, said that they will never fill any of my prescriptions ever again because she cares about her ājobā more than the life of a chronically ill customer.
One of my other medications, which is always in stock, is vital for me to take without missing doses. Recently, I missed a couple of doses due to a hospitalization. I then had a seizure. Luckily, my husband was there and we were at my doctorās office getting my prescription, so they were able to get me help right away. ER said the seizure was due to the missed doses and said to get my prescription filled right away. If I miss a dose or two again, I could very well have another seizure when Iām alone, with my kids, or in the car unable to call for help. I tried to explain this to the pharmacist but she did not listen or care. I was made to feel like less than a person, like I didnāt matter, in public. I was in tears, because the pharmacist refused to hear or understand that my moving and hospitalizations are not my fault. I donāt even know if I will be able to get my childrenās medications anymore.
I always got an unwelcome, unfriendly vibe whenever I went to this Rite Aid. I chalked it up to northerners just being rude people in general and me being probably the only person of color in this town/village. But refusing to service me at all for reasons that are not my fault and making sure the whole pharmacy could hear my business was humiliating and hurtful. I want my family to move away from New England and itās terrible treatment of me and my family. Itās not fair to be punished ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe pharmacy isn't terrible, it's just a pharmacy. Nothing more, nothing less (except there is also a drug store, but im focusing more on the pharmacy). The pharmacy employees are okay most of the time, but there have been many occasions when I would be sitting at the drive thru for more than 15 minutes and there will be people in the pharmacy that absolutely know that i am there. I understand stuff can get busy but multiple times this has happened where i am the only one in line in the drive thru and there will be nobody in line in store and still not be helped for over 15 minutes. Nobody even comes up to the window to let me know that it is going to be a while. This doesn't happen a whole lot but when it does its incredibly frustrating because it wastes my time when they could easily just tell me it's going to be a while and I could go do other stuff and come back later. But that is not the biggest problem. The reason why this is 2 stars and not 3 stars is because they close the whole pharmacy during lunch time. I think it would be perfectly reasonable for them to stagger shifts to cover lunch like every other business. Again if they are short staffed there could be a note on the window explaining why they are closed for lunch, but there is none. I know this doesn't affect everyone because people can just go there outside lunch hours, but I still think that not being open during lunch makes it way less convenient for at the very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never had a pharmacy closed on Christmas Eve before 5 PM. But apparently Rite Aid in Exeter, NH was closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas. The hell I went through to get another doctor to phone in my antibiotic prescription to another pharmacy, Walgreens, is beyond expressing in good taste. Even though Rite Aid was closed, their system processed my prescription (which was impossible to pick up being they were closed) and I was unable to use my prescription card to obtain my prescription from Walgreens. I had to pay out of pocket $41.99 to Walgreens. Walgreens was open both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will never use Rite Aid again. People do need prescriptions filled on Christmas Eve, especially prescribed antibiotics that need to...
