This GameStop received 11 copies of PokĆ©mon boosters for the 3/15 151 drop. When announcing stock to those in line, they stated there were only 10 available, with a limit of 1 per household per membership. There was 10 people in line. Then there was a āmiscountā and there was only 7 bundles right before letting everyone in. I decided to stay in the store, and as the last person received the ālastā bundle, i seen the rest of the stock behind the counter, In a drawer right under the register that was already shady to start with. At other locations they have the display boxes out in the open for customers to see the stock. Then as i walked up i was told there was no more. Then someone else from the line as i walked away from register told me he saw the rest in the drawer too. I then asked if any of them were preorders and was told no its first come first serve. After looking around for a bit and going to my car i seen a mom and her kid go in and moments later they are walking out with a bundle. I decided to go in and immediately was told in a rude way that they donāt have anymore before even getting to speak and show the remaining stock thatās appearing online at the location and from my own knowledge knowing i seen the stock. I asked for a name of the employee and she told me in a loud and rude way while smiling. As i was walking out i told her how i saw her sell a bundle minutes ago to some lady and she said āitās whatever!ā.
Like this previous review to this one that someone else posted. This kind of deception isnāt okay and donāt support it. This is the kind of stuff that ruins the tcg community and makes it even harder for us to find product without paying the insane reselling price. Also she was telling an employee that happened to āstop byā that the drop was crazy! That there was like 35 people but no it was 10 of us.. Lies all around. Canāt expect good outcomes if lies are thrown...
Read moreFirst all I would like to thank the store employees, they are hard working and most of the time they are short staffed for reasons beyond their control having to deal with crazy people day in and day out. This is my store of choice over the Jefferson street store and the now dead mall location. the amount of times I have seen the employees go above and beyond to help customers when they are searching for a game for a kids bday or just a action figure they are looking for is above and beyond what other locations do. Ashley has helped me countless times finding stuff or filling me in on the latest and greatest games or info on upcoming games that I would be interested in or letting me know which store has stock of a certain item. To the people complaining that they wont sell them certain cards whether its Pokémon or magic or what have you, have you been living under a rock no matter what card game, there is a shortage of some of these cards, but for you people to yell and belittle the employees because you cant get what you want now is shameful and you should be embarrassed of yourselves at the point your not a true collector, I have been in the store multiple times and seen people like this, and the employees have to deal with verbal abuse, cause that's what that is, and then to also get upset cause you cant buy out the store of the tcg cause they have a limit is really scalpery of you even if say your not a scalper, a real fan of any tcg would understand that times are tuff right now and you have to be patients and wait out the storm or just lucky while your shopping. To end these employees don't get enough credit and I hope corporate sees this and reaches out to the employees before they start losing them and the store suffers or eventually closes. I thank every employee there, keep your heads up and ignore the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGenerally the over all experience was pretty good. I saw the previous reviews people complained about not taking a foid card as identification or the prices for used games were too high. Which is an easy fix. Don't like the store policies and prices? Go somewhere else. Or better yet, get a real I.D.
My only issue that makes this place a 4 star instead of a 5 was the lack in knowledge with kid games. I bought two kid games for my son and daughter (ages 4 and 5) and prior to check out I asked "do we need internet to upload a profile for the games?" Both clerks said "No". I didn't see anything on the packages that said it was needed so I went ahead and bought it. (Mind you, the one clerk did buy the game for her 7 year old nephew and played it with him so I thought her word would be valid).
Install the kid games on my system at my internetless and wifiless household, it uploads but to play the two games you need to sign in with your xbox one profile which means a net connection is needed. I am not happy.
Before anyone says "well all games are like that", no they're not. I can play "Life is Strange", "Black Mirror", and "Skyrim" without having to log into any xbox one live profile account. It seems to be the kid games that are like that like "Forza Horizon 3". I was so excited to play the game with my son and nope! Need to sign in with your profile.
Which isn't too bad because we will have internet soon again.
I just wish the clerks knew more about the products they were selling specially since the one actually took one of the games home to play.
Good store! But know your games...
