Quillin's — Local services in Monona

When I wrote this review I forgot that I was writing about the Quillins in Waukon, Iowa! This review is only about the store in WAUKON, Iowa. Sorry about the confusion!

Even though they don’t consistently have superior produce, this store is fabulous! (Bit usually the produce is good.) I love coming here and looking for items that I can’t find in other grocery stores that are nearby. They have nice, strong paper grocery bags, too. The decor, which consists mainly of antique store machines, contains incredibly ornate and beautiful cash registers, scales, vending machines and other useful items. Sorry, they aren’t for sale but are delicious eye candy. As far as groceries go, I’m always thrilled to discover foods that I usually have to go to big cities to purchase. In my book, this store stands out among the rest.

My Uncle passed away in Monona, and we live very far away. I didn't want to send flowers, so I called Todd the store manager of Quillin's Foods in Monona. He went into action and made up a wonderful box of food and beverages for the family during this difficult time. (The last thing a family wants to think about is preparing food for everyone). Todd was SO pleasant to work with, and remembered my Uncle well. So nice to have a wonderful store with hometown values, that is quick to serve your needs. Small grocery store that contains a Subway. Employees are generally helpful and friendly. Selection is pretty limited, however, gluten free options are labeled. But if you're looking for vegan or lactose free, or health food options, practically nonexistent. Decent, basic, few frills, small town grocery. Does contain a pretty decent liquor section...
