I love the LOFT I have been shopping there for the better part of 10 years. I typically order online because I’m in between two locations and let’s be honest it’s easier. Recently I had to do a few online returns, as a mom who works full time I was reluctant to go to the mall on my day off but alas I did. Where to begin, upon entering the store with an arm full of returns, I wasn’t greeted (fine no worries), as I was about 1/2 through the store I was asked “do you want to try those on or are they returns?” When I reply that they are returns, I was asked if I wanted to look around for other sizes which I replied yes, since I was planning on just picking up some different items. I make my way over to the register to put the items down so they wouldn’t be confused as purchases. This is when I was greeted by what I can assume was the general manager, what a peach. When asked if I wanted to look around I replied yes, at that moment I was meet with “well what do you want? What size? I can just order it” - condescending isn’t even the word. She responds to my sizing issues with “just order a Petit” firstly mam I’m 5’5 120lbs I am not Petite but sure. She proceeds with my returns after asking me why I didn’t go to Rockingham, with what I can only describe as the upmost unpleasant commentary. My lack of physical receipt and two missing tags (for defective items) was clearly too much, and the concept of looking at my purchase history seemed to be clearly above her. As we get to the final item - a dress which she proceeds to tell me isn’t in my history, I repeat for the third time that I have the confirmation and that the item is continues to refer to as a vest is infact a dress. After what seems like an eternity I get my refunds and a store credit, looking back I should have just kept it all instead of enduring 30 plus minutes of this clearly miserable woman. Today almost a month later I stopped in again since I was in the area, I was glad to see her pleasant self wasn’t there - or so I thought. As I was completing my transaction she emerged from the back, clearly recognizing me she commented that I was back, in which I responded “yes and I made sure the tags and receipt were present, so you wouldn’t have to go out of you’re way” - needless to say I’ll be taking my business to Rockingham...
Read moreI usually have a good experience here. Good selection of clothing and great prices for the quality.
Remarks from my most recent visit that lead to a poor review of the store: I came in to return two orders, three items total. One was an in store purchase and the other an online purchase. The sales associate that was there mentioned the 50% currently running in the store. After I had looked around for a few minutes and took pictures of what I wanted to later order online, I came up with nothing to purchase and just wanted to complete my return. The woman who mentioned the 50% sale said something along the lines of "Oh you're not buying anything?". I responded "No, I'm going to place an online order instead". She then says "Well that doesn't help us" with such a condescending tone. I left confused as to why she even felt it necessary to make this remark. I only came in planning to do the return and didn't have time to try on everything I would have liked to and it's also more convenient to order online and try on at my leisure. As a consumer, if I want to make an online purchase vs an in store purchase, I'm not sure why the employee representing your store felt the need to shame me for that choice. I do like this brand of clothing and will continue to return as it is the closest Loft (non outlet location) to me but this woman was a huge turn off for any future in store shopping experiences. There are a million reasons why someone would prefer to order online vs shop and try on items in store: maybe they didn't plan for a sale to be happening and don't have time to try on and shop, maybe they are bloated due to their period and don't feel like trying on items in the store, or maybe they're pregnant and don't want to be in the fitting room. Or maybe as the consumer I should just be able to purchase items how I choose since it's my money. The woman who made the remark is often in the store and I can't say I look forward to going back and interacting with such a small minded individual who didn't hesitate to shame me for making an online purchase that doesn't...
Read moreI love shopping here! I have been coming here a few times a year for a few years now. The clothes are good quality and last for seasons. I love that you can easily get an evening outfit, a work outfit, and a casual outfit all in one go. There’s a large clearance section in the back where you can find crazy deals, but try to shop here on holiday weekends to maximize your savings. They celebrate any and all holidays, so it’s not that difficult. The sizing can be inconsistent so I recommend trying things on. The staff is super friendly and always helpful. I do wish the petite area had more selection, but otherwise this store is a big...
