I am giving Eglin golf course a 1 star review for a single individual names Anne who repeatedly makes it an annoying and tedious experience to play golf at this course. Every other member at this course is pleasant and accommodating. Anne, on multiple occasions, has made myself and people in my party feel unwelcome at this recreational facility. On this day we booked a party of 3 and 3 with 2 tee times playing a scramble and were ambushed by having a 4th member foisted upon us. This forced us to play a team of 3 (my wife, myself, and a stranger) and a team of my 4 friends. We did not pay $77 dollars as a couple to play golf with a stranger. As a 31 year old veteran I found it insulting because we felt as if we had been assigned a chaperone for the day. Anne has no business dealing with customers because her personal skills are lacking at best. This is not even the first unpleasant encounter that myself and my party have had with this individual hence why I am leaving this...
Read moreThe guy at the front desk was not very friendly or helpful, and he acted a bit standoffish. The clubs we got where badly damaged and didn't even have all the clubs in the bag and the lady we asked about it basically said "yeah, that's just how it is idk what to tell you". The course itself wasn't too bad. It was bigger than I expected which was good but its not laid out the best. Not TOO terrible overall though. There was a good bit of tree debris around due to the storm that just passed through. However, for the most part, it was a pretty clean course. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to golf, this could be your spot, but if you're used to a certain standard, of course, this might not be for you. It is run by the military after all. Also, the driving range netting is damaged, so they don't allow anything other than Irons, which was a major...
Read moreI have been playing this course regularly for 10 years , my wife and I always enjoyed the challenging walk as it is a very hilly course. Unfortunately the last 2 or 3 years it has gone downhill very quickly. As it went down dramatically they raised the membership price . It used to be a very busy place, now they have lost many members and hardly anyone plays there anymore. It is a shame because it is a unique natural setting for a golf course, unusual for Florida. It used to be a great place for all our active and retired service members and their families to enjoy. Hopefully someone will step in , take it over and restore it to its former quality. I think if our current Commander in Chief new a military golf course was so neglected, maybe he might correct the situation and make Eglin Golf...
