I will not be shopping at this GameStop again. Before the new Smash came out, I preordered a Ridley amiibo, which the worker told me was being released on 12/16. Last week, I got one phone call from a GameStop employee telling me that the amiibo was there and asked if I still wanted it. I told her yes and she said okay and it was ready for pick up. I am a store manager who works 50+ hrs a week, so on my next day off (today) I went to pick it up. The worker who checked me out chastised me for not picking the amiibo up earlier and told me that they only hold preorders for two days after release. First, I wasn't told this when I preordered it originally or when the lady called me. In addition, he said they "tried to contact me multiple times" which is not true, they called once and I answered and told them I still wanted the preorder. Read moreCalled this store and asked for a duplicate receipt to do a return for a game that was purchased and did not work. She told us she can't do that. We called customer service and said that all we had to do was go in the store and print it out. The manager is super rude. I heard her say her name was "Auntie" when she got on the phone with another store. Had to call customer service over something that could been handled inside the store, simple as that. All we needed was a duplicate receipt and she acted like we were asking her to part the Red Sea. She then raised her voice at my boyfriend and told him he wasn't listening to her. The way she was talking to her co-worker makes me think she needs to have management training. The kept sighing and shifting her body, clearly annoyed she had to help paying customers.
