GameStop — Local services in Opelika

I went to this location to buy a mouse for my son. I have shop at GameStop and never had an issue for years (since 2010) and I'm a pro member with over 70k in point on there pro members program. The sticker price for the mouse was 29.99 and with my 5 dollars off per month would have made this 24.99 before tax. The associate told me the price was 38.49 and when I asked if they were charging me 13 dollars in tax he told me that the mouse was actually 39.99. I asked him to change the price and he wouldn't not. He told me he didn't have the authority to do so and he was the only one working. I then called there customer service. They told me they would forward the information to the management team but they could not guarantee that I would get a call back and they at customer service have no authority to do anything at a store level. This is the worst customer service ever and I will just cash out my points to gift cards and never shop with GameStop...

I will be cutting off all patronage with Gamestop as of this experience. Not only due to store experience but company performance with regard to lack of customer care and empathy.

My biggest complaint revolves around the trade-in policies. I was offered $200 on a Master Gift Card for a Ps5, a $100 ps5 controller, and miscellaneous objects as well. With the $200 gift card, I would have received $450 in store credit. Before the transaction I clarified my intent was to quit gaming and only wanted cash (unfortunately, with some crummy policy cash/debit card cannot be offered). She also marked several items as store credit, rather than the seemingly available “cash, debit card return” option”, but I digress…

They formulate their policies to force the customer to have continued patronage and its predatory. Gamestop is coming to its ending days and its only due to the selfishness of those in charge of...

The staff was friendly enough but the young man I spoke to didn't seem to understand any of my references to flash or guardians of the Galaxy lol. Now I'm an old man 50 year old Yes I need more about these and some video games than he did....

And some of you might be saying he's just bragging to that I reply Yes I am!

I'm very proud to be an old young man now back to the store.....

At some stores you can tell them and they will just print you off a gift card on your receipt I've had it done here but none of the regular employees including the managers know how to do it now they'll tell you it can't be done.....

I'm telling you it depends on the person and it depends on the store.

All in all it's always been a pleasant experience I just wish they would educate their employees like...
