Went here in hopes this would be my new grocery store since I just moved to the area. Kroger at tiger town is too busy and I was looking for something closer. This was a bad idea. First thing, they did not have the items I normally see in most grocery stores like steak or even regular goat cheese (they had Champaign cheese but no regular goat cheese). In addition to that, Their prices were roughly one or two dollars more than Kroger. Even more than Publix too. When I went to check out there was a line. Which to me was no big deal at the time. I noticed a lady bagging groceries in front of me. She was being nice and friendly to the gentleman ahead of me. So was the cashier which made me think I could forget the out of stock items. When it was my turn she left and I then proceeded to bag the groceries myself figuring she was going to help another customer. I stopped bagging soon after that since I noticed her coming back. Yay she is coming back to help me I thought. This did not happen. She just looked at me then quickly walked to the two cashiers I noticed that were talking amongst themselves (did I mention there was a line earlier). I was ask if I wanted a Winn Dixie card and of course I said no. There are no redeeming features of this place. Never in my life would I have even imagined to find a place worse than Walmart but here it is. The only difference is Walmart has self checkout if you get my drift. I think I will drive the extra mile to go to Kroger or even Publix for that matter. Boo...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis particular Winn Dixie needs a bit of work to come up to standard. Most of the food is fine, and cheap if you stick to the endless deals only, but I would avoid frozen foods here. They just do not take care of them as is true of many other grocery stores but particularly here. The grocery store in the Auburn-Opelika area that consistently takes care to load and maintain frozen foods the best us Publix, which is also the best grocery stores in the area. Their prices are higher except for sales. Other considerations often with lower prices are Kroger and Target. Still, Publix blows both out of the water on quality and happy employees. When you see a happy professional employee, you know they are doing something right. Walmart, no so happy. Target, much happier than Walmart or Winn-Dixie but again...Publix just dies almost everything right at a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo employees were at the front desk when I went over to show them that I burned my hand on the seat of an electric cart that was stored in front of the store. It was Thursday afternoon.
Neither employee was helpful. Both employees had excuses for why it happened and that it was not their fault.
One was more concerned that I stopped the cart a foot away from him. His greeting was "What are you trying to do, run over me?".
Placing the cart that close was my intention. I asked them to touch the seat to see how hot it was. After much argument, they did eventually, but offered no solution for my burned hand.
After shopping in the pharmacy and pet food sections, my hand was still red an hour later. Some burn spray would have helped. I bought a cold drink to do the job.
This experience is the worst customer service that I have ever see at...
