"Prismatic Evolutions Ultra Premium Collection Drop" When did leaving a chair in front of the store reserves your spot in line? I have been collecting Pokemon Cards and Funko Pops! for many years and all the stores across the country have rules set in place for special events or drops to maintain order and customer safety. This GameStop does not! My daughter had an awful experience this morning. She had been talking about getting the Prismatic Evolutions UPC for months now and she was super happy she was the second person in line. However she noticed 2 empty chairs and the girl in the first chair said " You should leave because there is only 3 UPCs." My daughter responded "Oh, ok. But, I am second in line." The girl replied that those two chairs were spot holders for her family. My daughter was very confused and told her "if they aren't here, they are not in line." The girl gets on her phone and makes some calls. Half an hour later a guy shows up and sits on one chair. My daughter tries to talk to him but the guy only laughed at her. Then he starts harassing her. He told her he planted that chair last night at 8 and that she should leave. Then his wife shows up 45 mins after him and sits on the other chair. Wtf! My daughter called me and said the guy was making rude comments and remarks directed towards her. A bit later, she texted me saying she was very uncomfortable but that she was gonna wait for the store manager to get things resolved. Also when other ppl who got there after her asked about what was going on and she explained what had transpired, the man yelled at her, told her to shup up and added "I don't want to hear your annoying voice." These people were taunting her for hours. Finally, the manager, Ricardo, gets there and she explains the situation. He told her he couldn't do anything that people do leave chairs as place holders to which she replied isn't "first come, first serve." He told her he couldn't kick them out of the line eventhough she had proof those ppl weren't there when she arrived. GameStop has to do something before someone gets hurt! Hot Topic, Boxlunch, Best Buy, Sam's Club, Cotsco, Target to name a few Pokemon retailers, have rules set in place to avoid issues. Malls have security guards that will kick people out of the line for misbehavior, for leaving and then getting back in line or for trying to sneak in before he opens the front doors. My daughter was so upset the manager didn't use his authority to set things straight. She even told him to go talk to the rest of the people in line. He told her he would but that it wouldn't change anything. She also suggested a solution: that family to be allowed one UPC box, one for her and one for the family behind her. But the manager denied her request. How is this fair? So, I can leave a chair outside this store indefinitely and just show up on all drop dates and expect my spot in line to be secured? As a long time GS rewards member, I feel angry and disappointed at how the store manager dealt with this situation or better said "did not deal" with the situation. Despite my daughter been in pain due to serious health issues, she managed to get up early and stand in line for hours. She even put up with verbal abuse and for what? The manager did not take control of the situation and the bad, greedy people bought everything worth while. All of this happened to her because GameStop stopped doing pre-orders online and in person. How funny, isn't it? you cannot pre-order Pokémon TCG but you can leave a chair outside the store and secured all the UPCs the store had on drop day!!!???? With this said, "Please, be the change you want to see...
Read moreThe staff are friendly and the store has a shotgun layout - cash register faces the door. This makes the store look a tad smaller, but it probably small to begin with.
The store has ample parking, but the parking lot is covered in a layer of trash. It must be that the wind blows the trash to the west side of building and gets stuck there because of the lack of a crosswind.
Beware when driving up to the store via the Wal-Mart parking lot. There are cars driving over parking spaces and quite a bit of traffic. Instead, go in through the northern entrance into the plaza to avoid a texting driving...
