TL;DR: They made my dream come true! Very patient with our pickiness, very helpful, and created EXACTLY what we wanted in a way that was absolutely perfect. HIGHLY recommend for creating a unique, one-of-a-kind engagement ring. After several months of searching for a jeweler who could and would design the unique ring, my fiance and I found Farrar Jewelers. From the first time we went in for a consultation, to the day we picked the ring up (and I'm sure beyond as we design the wedding band), Rod has been professional, kind, and wonderful to work with. We warned him upfront that we can be picky customers--my fiance even wore down a used car salesman--and Rod was not phased in the least.

We took in a sketch (totally not necessary, but it's how we operate) of what we want, along with descriptions of the kind of thing we were looking for in a ring. After some discussion, Rod took our ideas and they designed it in CAD and sent us an initial draft. We made some edits, they redesigned, and then we went and saw the first wax prototype. I was blown away by how close they came with the first design. When we saw the initial design, I was unsure about some of the details I initially thought I had wanted in the ring. Rod was patient and explained what it would look like, and even used an earring prong he had been working on to show me what a bark texture would look like when in gold. Ultimately this helped me decide that I didn't want that and only wanted texture on the small leaves (see picture).

After the first prototype, we had a few small edits, they took it back, updated the design and then on to the next model. Again, it was so near perfect, but we're picky, and with complete understanding, they made the edits, and then we saw the third prototype. The third model was PERFECT! By this time, we were far enough along in the design process to have started thinking about the wedding band and how that will look with the finished product. I had decided that rather than having a band that added something around the central focus, like most rings, it would be ideal if they could design something that fit with the engagement ring, maybe even fitting underneath the center, to keep the central rose the focus. Rod agreed and told me that was completely possible, just one small adjustment to the design, but they could begin creating the ring. When I picked up the final product I nearly cried, it was exactly what I've always dreamed of, even seeing the models with gems in it didn't come close to seeing the finished product.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Farrar Jewelers! I was searching for the perfect wedding band, and I wanted the Tiffany Embrace style band, but I did not wish to have the diamonds to go all the way around as I wanted a comfort fit. I checked everywhere, and I could not find a five stone that I was close enough to look that style. My friend referred me to Rod, and I had the best experience! They look at photos of what you want then they mock-up designs for you to show what they can custom make. After you approve the designs, they will print the design to create a plastic mold to try the ring on. I loved the print and went ahead and had them make my custom ring. The process was very fast, and my ring ended up being cheaper than the stores who had something similar. Later, I wanted to get a taller head for my diamond ring, so my wedding band would sit closer to my diamond. They replaced it very inexpensively, and my ring is even more gorgeous! If you have your mindset on a style, I would recommend coming here before shopping at any retailer as you are going to get a better all-around experience at Farrar and save...

From the first email I sent, they were fast and friendly with the communication; the design consultantion was fun and simple, making us feel like a valuable part of the process, with excellent suggestions to improve on our ideas. Receiving a 3D-printed version of each iteration of our design was unexpected and cool! Each time we went in, we had a blast, and left even more excited to see the final result than when we arrived.
