Had an unfortunate experience where the cashier borderline harassed myself and my partner about signing up for a credit card - seriously - it was the most pushy I’ve ever experienced about a retail credit card for absolutely no reason. The cashier (an older woman with glasses) asked my partner if they wanted to sign up and explained the benefits of the card. What they didn’t and couldn’t have known is that my partner was quite overstimulated and anxious and just wanted to get out of the store. I can’t blame them for doing their job, and would have been fine with them even asking twice. But I am dead serious when they asked no less than 5 times.
My partner at first didn’t understand that it was a credit card and not just a store points card, so I explained they wouldn’t be approved because they don’t have credit. At this point, we’d already said no thank you twice. My partner kept looking at me because they wanted out of the situation, then the cashier said it was a great way to build credit. We once again said no thank you. The cashier then said again that it’s good to build up credit, to which we said no thank you for the FOURTH TIME. I am pretty non-confrontational, especially because I’ve worked retail before, but both of us were pretty clearly uncomfortable and it was holding up the transaction of a single item at this point. She then insisted it would be helping the store, to which I finally said “We’ve said no already, thank you.” FINALLY she stopped asking and sent us off. It just felt gross and predatory, being pressured into something that could be financially devastating for some people does not feel good. I am already working through my own debt - no means no. Nordstrom, we know you want to sell your credit cards. But if you’re basing so much of your employees’ performance that they have to hold up purchases to harass people into signing up, you are actively making customers uncomfortable and doing poor business. Your guests should not feel like they will be battered into debt if they want to make a...
Read moreHi. I’ve been a faithful shopper of Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. I’ve seen the highs and lows. I’m writing this in response to a google review my daughter showed me, referring to the new highlight of my visits, Manager Tracey. The other day, my daughter and I were standing in a very long line, and there was an unhappy customer upset about a return. The clerk that was helping her, tried to explain why she couldn’t do what was asked. So the customer asked to speak to a manager. Tracey was assisting other customers in line at the same time, then went over to disgruntled customer, who began threatening her by saying “You are going to learn your lesson today, you’re no manager”! We noticed everyone in line getting upset because we heard Tracey trying her best to appease the awful lady, who kept berating her. Tracey completed the return, whatever the issue was and the customer continued to yell at Tracey while walking out the store. This upset my daughter and me very much. I remember when her and I first met, asking Tracey if she knew of any jeans that full figured woman, such as my daughter, could comfortably wear. Not only did she know, but she walked us over to the jeans and began explaining each brand to us. She was absolutely not dismissive, but to the contrary, very helpful and happy, she wanted to make sure we were happy and of course we bought the perfect jeans and boosted my daughter’s self esteem! While I have no idea what transpired in the other person’s interaction, who wrote that review, I’m just not sure that’s what really happened, based on what we all witnessed the other day and how diplomatic she was to such an irate customer. We cheered when the woman left and Tracey was complimented by her actions by several customers, who was shaken by how she was treated. I want to leave with this. Sometimes, some humans, don’t want to accept diversity as an authority figure. Perhaps food...
Read moreI usually appreciate all the kind helps from the employees in Nordstrom racks. However I had the horrible experience with this employee Alex who helped me at check out in the evening on 12/19/23. I bought lots of things for gifts that day and he told me to grab Celene sunglasses myself I wanted to check out from the display glass box after he unlocked it. I thought it was little bit unusual but I kindly grabbed them and asked him to keep them at the counter. When he was helping me at the cashier, i saw him checking the tagged price and saw the POS that probably didn’t match the tagged price. And he kept going and scanning other items until I found out the prices are not matching from the tagged price showing on the monitor. I felt very suspicious and checked my receipt after I paid over $700 and it was much items to look through and found out he didn’t correct the discounted price for 5 items total. Regardless of the amount of money, he must inform the customers about that. This situation, I just see it as his laziness or disrespectfulness to his costumers. I wasted long time to check through my receipt but I’m glad I did it and got some money back I paid extra. He would like some training in customer service or...
