I came into this GameStop around April 25th and did a bunch of trade ins with my partner and they also upgraded to pro and we bought an Xbox Series X all in the same transaction. The manager was nice even along with the employee that helped me. I went back in a couple months later around June 9-15th ish I went with my partner again because I live out in Lutz, Wesley Chapel area and the guy was being weird and pushy with everyone to get a credit card or either get out of the store. There was no A/C but they had portable ones that I had to go stand around occasionally because I get super hot easily. What I didn't like was first him being kinda weird hopping into our conversation about Mario Party and not really caring for the older one versus the newer one thats gonna come out soon; and him forcing us to get out the store rudely asking us ”Are y'all gonna buy something or not because you can't loiter around” I could understand if we were a bunch of teenagers but we are in our 20s just browsing the store cause I'm not sure what I want. Also mind you we were in the store for a max of like 5-10 mins. I was interested in buying a cute Hello Kitty shirt but after he was rude it turned me away. My partner felt pressured to buy something we were gonna buy anyways which was just an Expansion Drive for the Xbox. I wanted to get the drive from some place else but I will not be coming back to this location ever again. When I grew up around the area this GameStop was never this bad in 2014. Like we all sometimes have jobs we don't like but if you don't like your job get another one. It just feels like the manager doesn't wanna do his job just cause the GameStop is in a dying mall. I would not recommend this place to anyone as you can't even browse the store without being told you're ”loitering”. Wish I could rate this...
Read moreA couple weeks ago I came here to buy a couple ps5 games. I found a star wars game i was super interested in. I brought the box to the check out and she looked for it. And looked and looked. Turns out they had sold it and didn't remove the box from the shelf. Today star wars outlaws came out. I called and asked if they had any for ps5. I was told only pre-orders came in, so no. Of course that's how get you. They want you to be forced to pre-orders or u miss out. This is why gamestop is a dieing franchise. It won't change its business model to appease today's consumers. Cause guess what I did? I simply went To my ps5 gamestore, ordered it, and did an instant download. Viola, problem solved a and $70 not in gamestop's pockets.
You do get 1 extra star tho because when I do buy games there the staff...
Read moreI wanted to purchase the Jurassic Park collectible mini TV, but couldn't tell if it worked. The employee told me I couldn't be refunded if the item didn't work! I could only get in-store credit. I don't shop at GameStop often so that would not do me any good. I came back and got the manager. I asked if the item could be opened to check to make sure it works. No we can't do that. And then he says don't buy it if you feel uncomfortable with the return policy. He was quite rude. And then he adds that you can't return it anyway because it's a clearance item. This is ridiculous, unacceptable. To make it worse, it was in front of my autistic daughter who can't possibly understand what was going on and was just making her incredibly upset. Don't shop GameStop but definitely don't shop...
