I came in to get my switch oled joycon replacement returned as it was defective and I told the guy at the front that I wanted it to be replaced. He didn’t seems very knowledgeable about to process but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and it seemed promising when he gave me a receipt and told me I should expect the new item to be shipped soon.
The day after, something told me to check the status of it and sure enough, the return had been cancelled as “no proof of purchase with a receipt was provided”. I had informed the worker that I had a receipt but he didn’t ask to see it. So I called the store and the guy just so happened to answer and he apologized for not knowing how to properly process the return/exchange.
The next day, I returned to the store for him to do the process correctly- though it still took him a while and involved him asking me the same questions over and over. However, get this: HE PUT MY ADDRESS IN WRONG!
The “address” only included a street number and apartment number- no street name nor zip code. So the carrier would have no clue where to deliver the package! I only found out about this when I got an alert that the package failed to deliver! I just got off the phone with USPS and they said I will have to pick up the package at my post office.
This has been an unnecessary amount of inconvenience and waste of time! That guy needs more training or something because he cannot be inconveniencing...
Read moreWas looking for a rare, discontinued item and according to Gamestop.com, they had a copy here. The time was 8:58 pm, just before close, but I figured I could call and ask them to hold it for 24 hours so I could pick it up tomorrow when they opened.
Tried calling but there was no answer and the way GameStop has their automated service set up, the system basically hangs up on you after a certain number of rings.
Well, surely the employees aren’t so lazy as to not pick up the phone despite it being so late. The store was technically still open and even at my work, which is also retail, I at least have the courtesy and basic human decency of picking up the phone and letting the customer know that we are closed and will open at a certain hour.
Nope, tried calling several more times and they just let it ring. I stopped calling at 9:05 after 10 attempts, I know they are closed but it doesn’t take much time or effort to answer a phone and see why someone is calling.
This is basically just employees being lazy and not wanting to deal with customers at closing time so they simply ignore the phone. Perhaps if they don’t want to do their jobs, they shouldn’t be allowed to continue...
Read moreMake sure to do your own research beforehand. I did this before coming to this GameStop location, and it helped a lot. I was selling my Switch and looking to purchase a Steam Deck. The employee told me to go to the Mall of Georgia to handle it since they had them there. I had already found one at another location that could deliver the same day. I just came here to get the trade-in credit. When I said I would just get the credit and go ahead and sell the Switch, he still said to go to the Mall of Georgia and that the other location would just decline my order. In my opinion, the employee, I believe his name is Ross, seemed unwilling to process the trade. I then called the other GameStop location because I felt misled, and they informed me they would offer same-day delivery for a Steam Deck with tracking. I came back after quickly confirming this detail, and my Switch was finally processed, and I got my trade-in credit. I then placed my order for the Steam Deck and received it as soon as possible. I was actually quite shocked at how fast it arrived. Please do your research beforehand; it helped me avoid...
