Buyers beware of their return policy!! DO NOT gift them your hard earned money in exchange for terrible customer service.
Bad experience at the Washington square Aldo store on 7/28/25 For my son’s graduation the boys were supposed to wear black boots for a performance. I went to different stores in Clackamas, portland, tigard, and Amazon trying to find black boots in the middle of summer. Aldo carried black boots but in a bigger size that did NOT fit my son. After not finding them anywhere else and because I was very busy with family and the party arrangements my cousin that was visiting from out of town came to Washington square and bought 2 pairs of boots at Aldo for my son to choose from. My son chose 1 of them and tried on one of the other style boots. It’s been a month and I finally came to return the pair he didn’t pick but I had lost the paper receipt. There were 2 girls that helped me and I was told I needed a receipt to return or exchange it. I asked if I could get store credit but was told it wasn’t possible. I figure it was a fair request to protect themselves from theft.
I called my cousin and my son to look for the receipt and to my surprise my cousin sent me the email receipt. I came back on the same day but there was only 1 girl in the store and she was assisting a customer for about 15 mins before she was able to help me so I waited patiently, after he left I tried to show Isa the receipt, but she didn’t even take a look, she asked for the boots, I gave her the boots. She examines the boots and asked if they were worn outside so I said no, he had tried one of the boots on but he hadn’t ever worn them. She says “unfortunately we will not be able to accept the boots because they were worn” I asked her to look at the boots again one of the boots had never even been out of the box, my son (who is a teen that wears Nike tennis shoes every day, not used to dress shoes) really disliked the boots so he tried one on but not the other. She said “when you came in earlier my manager saw the boots and told me if you came back we would not accept them” I told her it was unacceptable for them to say I needed a receipt in order to get a refund and when I came back with the receipt they had requested they are now saying they won’t take them. I was told the name of the manager that decided this is Carly. I have multiple pairs of Aldo shoes and so does my husband. I know they are not the best quality but they are leather and stylish for the price so Aldo was my go to shoe store, not again.
They should have told me this from the beginning. I will be calling customer care and expect someone to respond to me, I felt discriminated and humiliated. please look at the photos and tell me the boots look worn, used, or damaged because these are BRAND new, NEVER worn. (The area where the price sticker used to be in one of the boots is dirty but there’s absolutely NO damage, it can be...
Read moreAvery & Carly at Aldo at the Washington Square Mall were ABUNDANTLY helpful. Here's the story... In 1998 I bought the perfect pair of Aldo Chelsea Boots in Canada. I wore them soooooo much! Then sadly one day in 2013, the zipper on the right boot failed. When I went into the Boise Towne Square location to look for some new boots, I told the associates about the zipper on my favorite 1998 Favorite Chelsea Boots and needed to replace them. The associate informed me that Aldo had a policy that they would repair any shoe sold from Aldo. So instead of buying a new pair, I was about to get my favorite ever boots back in service! Flash forward to 2023... My beautiful 1998 Favorite Right Chelsea Boot cracked completely through the entire right sole! I even think there were tears involved.
We all know the retail industry is facing massive struggles and managing a large organization such as Aldo comes with tough decisions to remain alive. As part of those tough decisions Aldo closed many locations. :(. When the Boise Towne Square location closed, I had assumed that all locations had to close as well.
Flash forward to April 22nd, 2025. I was taking my first ever visit to the Washington Square Mall, and to my surprise there was an Aldo store! There may have even been a 14 year old school girl "squeeee" echoing of the walls and ceiling of the mall. I brought my 1998 favorite Chelsea boots in! Carly was waiting at the counter. Feeling optimistic, I explained the situation and asked if Aldo still had the shoe repair policy. Carly immediately got on the phone to inquire. She waited on hold for 20 minutes, but needed to take her break so, she left the phone with Avery who remained on hold. Avery finally connected with someone who broke the news that Aldo no longer offered that shoe repair service. This makes complete sense especially for a program that honestly very few Aldo clients even knew existed. Carly returned from her break and I told her the news. Carly still had a solution! She provided me with the name of a local cobbler who she was confident could get me back into my 1998 Favorite Chelsea Boots.
Carly & Avery - THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
PS: Keep being...
Read more9/2/25 at 4pm today and my first time review a store in mall. My daughter 1 year old walk to the store and I see a pair of shoe that I wanna try on. When I’m waiting my daughter walk around and grab 1 shoe and try to hang it to the employee(young lady) at the cashier, my daughter dropped the shoe. The employee was rude and told my 1 year old do not drop it, and something else was kinda rude!!!!!!! I like…people dropping the shoe all the time even LV, gucci, high end brands none told me that way plus other stores no matter what brands. Employees always smile and understanding that is a 1 year old kid. (That is not mean I let my daughter do it. Some point shopping and she may walk fast to other area try to grab stuffs out of my attention). Also, I like Aldo women heels and always stop by and see what news. None employee do that to me and usually people will have another way to tell people be careful in a nicer way. This employee was extra and in title. I hope the store manager look at this and coach that employee to not loosing business and...
