This was a gift from my child for mothers Day, and it would have been better if they would have mailed me, the brochure about the float, before I booked my appointment. It had much info in it, that would have been extremely helpful ahead of time. The sauna was not what I expected, it looked like a normal sauna, not infrared. It was too hot to sit back, you would have been burned, and I didn't like being hunched over the whole time, it was very uncomfortable, for some one with back and neck issues (such as myself). The float was truly relaxing, just wish the ♨ attendant would have fully explained everything, because she left out the info on the head halo thing, for your neck. And because I wasn't informed about the neck thing, I honestly can't say if it would have helped out or not. Over all, I have 4 stars, it was a relaxing experience, I left all my worries, in the salt. Thank you, I will return.
An isolation tank, originally called a sensory deprivation tank (a.k.a. float tank, flotation tank or sensory attenuation tank) is a lightless, soundproof tank with high epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) content filled with salt water at skin temperature, in which individuals float. They were first used in 1954 to test the effects of sensory deprivation. If you are looking for this definition this is not the place. I had a 90 minute session left have way thru because the person next to me was snoring so load. You can hear everything outside of the tank. ie walking around talking. They are not soundproof. The lady was nice asked me how it was I responded it was ok. Then said can you hear him snoring I responded yes did you hear him when you were floating I responded yes. Then she said I wonder how i'm going to get him up. She was more concerned about him and never asked why I cut my 90 minute session to 45 min.
One of the most amazing experiences ever! The very friendly lady attendant did a great job of explaining everything & helped me know what to expect. At first I was concerned 90 minutes of silence would be too much isolation, but the effects of the float far outweighed my anxiety. Once I was able to release my mind, I was able to really embrace the quiet & fully relax. When I was done with the float, I felt like a human puddle - I was so peaceful. My skin felt like silk. My one piece of advice for anyone wanting to try it is to drink lots of free water when done. I was parched when I got done & I drank a couple liters of water, it helped to flush my body. Hours later & the next day I felt very sharp & clear minded with zero pain (I have 2 chronic pain conditions). Three or four days later the effects started to wear off, so I will definitely be scheduling another appointment soon! Highly recommend!
